A Weapons Heart

I started to prepare for the adventure I was about to go on. I took a wallet that was on the drawer. It had a picture of me and my ID. I wore some new clothes before finally leaving this apartment for the first time.

My objective was to go get the Bow of Eros, one of the best bows early in the story that was used by some extra villain that had a crush on the female lead Lena Hemelmaan. It's power was to amplify a positive emotion by 1.5x every time you were shot.

Some people in the community thought it was useless and blurted things like 'What's the point on making them more positive' but the thing is you can choose which emotion to multiply.

Too much excitement may cause heart rates to go up and if you multiply it, it will definitely cause your heart rate to go up.

Some people experience rapid heartbeats (paroxysmal supra ventricular tachycardia), with heart rates rising up to 240 beats per minute. Other symptoms include palpitations, shortness of breath, fainting and possibly angina.

I am so smart and knowledgeable aren't I?

With those thoughts I went to the nearest bus stop by asking around saying I was new around here. Thankfully nobody knew me since this was the Bless student campus and not 'his' hometown. Should I identify as They/Them? Nah, That would be boring so, I guess I'll have to act like Douglas Preto.

"I don't even know what kind of guy he was. I could at least act like any other character I knew but I don't even know this guys personality." I muttered under my breath.

It seems the lady next to me heard me as she gave me a weird look before getting onto the bus. I too got near the bus and asked if it went to 'Park of Serenity' but they told me 1-Y went to that park. I thanked them and backed off as I watched the bus leave and started waiting for my bus.

After a while my bus finally arrived and I sat across an elderly gentleman than looked to the window to watch the road. It was a habit I had because of the paranoia I developed after the incident with my parents. If only I could stop someone else from suffering the same fate as me than I would be content.

As I was about to reminisce about the past a shaky voice called out to me.

"Young man, you seem to be deep in thought but this is the last stop."

"Thanks, I didn't realize how fast the bus was going."

"Heh, don't worry it happens"

I felt grateful for the conveniently free transportation system as I got off the bus.

It was a 5-minute walk to the Park of Serenity from this stop, so I started walking.

***

There is a little chance more than 5 minutes may have passed since I didn't exactly know the way but by asking some people on the way I managed to finally arrive at the park.

I immediately went towards the 'Lake of wishes' which was the ticket to getting a chance at obtaining the Bow of Eros.

"I wish for strength to protect others from suffering." I said.

The author explained in a chapter that while the bows origins were something he can't say yet, the lake was man made and was filled to the brim with mana. If you voiced out your wish and then went to the Statue of Signum and held his hand, you would get his blessing. At the bottom of the statue was a quote from Signum "Holding hands may relieve your stress." Which led to people around here developing a tradition of holding hands with his statue.

Signum was a man who could carry the worlds weight on his back during the dark era according to the rumors, but I knew he was a fraud and that was not the case thanks to my knowledge from reading the story, however now I needed to get his blessing which wasn't made with his mana but the mana of the world by a technique still not known to this day.

I held his hand unwillingly for 5 seconds before I felt something entering my body, specifically my eyes. It was mana and I felt relieved of any fatigue I had.

The point of his blessing was to allow the eyes to see the hidden cave that normally couldn't be seen unless you concentrated half of your mana to your eyes.

I saw the huge entrance to the cave and wondered how no one accidentally discovered it by phasing through the wall. The answer became clear as I saw the "Danger ahead, Chance of erosion" sign.

I entered the cave and saw a riddle written on the wall.

I can break, I can be clogged, I can be attacked, I can be given, I can be kept, I can be crushed, yet I can be whole at the same time. What am I?

When I saw this riddle in the novel I thought it was a toilet and I still stand by it, but as much as I want to say it the correct answer would remain the same, so I said;

"A heart"

Suddenly, I heard lots of sounds and it hurt my ears. I went to where the sound came from and found a secret gateway. I was faced with yet another riddle at the end of the gateway.

I have a consciousness, but at the same time I don't. I am real, but at the same time I'm not.I can be repaired on the outside, but not on the inside. What am I?

"A weapons heart"

The wall in front of me slowly started to go up and I could see light coming from the newly opened space. It had now opened halfway and I could pass through, so I did and what I saw was a Bow with all of its might and magnificence sitting on a throne. Yes, this bow was sitting on a throne with a heart shaped design. As I got closer to the bow I could feel the rooms special effect that prevented anyone with strong negative feelings to get close to the bow and anyone who was in a neutral state of emotions would be instantly feeling positive. This was a mysterious effect not explained by the author, so I had no idea how it worked, but it made me happier, so I couldn't complain.

I took the Bow of Eros in my hand and felt a surge of emotions and... something else?

It felt really tingly but soon a robotic voice called out to me.

*Success, Bow of Eros has chosen you as its rightful owner and is now soul bound to you*

*You can now perfectly mask your emotions and control the emotions of people you have deep affection a little*
