Chapter 48 — Milky in the Milky Way

"There are such wonders in the universe!" said Gropius.

"You have seen nothing yet!" said Fluffy.

"Where are we?" asked Gropius.

After having crossed the multidimensional tunnel, the Egg had reached the other side, and was now cruising serenely, tracing a golden line on the black canvas of the universe.

"Have we reached another galaxy?"

"Not yet." answered Pebbles. "We're still in the same galaxy. But in a quite distant place from Earth…"

Pebbles continued with his usual lecturing tone: "In case you don't know, galaxies are huge celestial objects, made of hundreds of billions of stars. Imagine it as a giant spiral of stars, swirling in space. Your galaxy has a diameter of about one hundred thousand light-years…"

"Oh, I guess that's a lot!" said Eugene. "I can only count up to… let's see…" And he started counting on his gloved fingers: "One… two… three… four… Is it bigger than four?"
