ALL OF YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS

"Where have you been? You returned just now?"

Brown hair, cold expression, glaring eyes that filled with hatred, yep, that was Hazel's eldest brother, Dylan Rose.

He had never done anything outrageous to Hazel, but you could smell his annoyance toward his only sister from miles away.

"Hazel Rose, I am talking to you!" Dylan frowned when Hazel walked past him and didn't even spare him a glance. This sister of his was actually ignoring him.

"I am tired." Hazel glanced at him and nodded. "I am going to my bedroom."

"Hazel Rose! Stop there and explain to me where you have been!" Dylan stood up from his chair. Since their father went overseas on a business trip, he was the one who was in charge of this family.

River gritted her teeth. She should have just sneaked into her own bedroom, then she could have avoided him and this mess.

But, she didn't want to aggravate Dylan more than this. His ego was too fragile to be ignored by the sister he didn't even want.

"I went out with a friend."

"You don't have any friends."

Ouch. For Hazel, that held true, but for River… well, the same case. She couldn't say all of her sources of information were her friends, at best, they were partners in business.

"I went window shopping." River held up the bag in her hand. In a bag from the expensive clothing brand she bought the clothes she was currently wearing from, was a laptop. "There is something I want to buy.

Dylan glanced at the bag, he didn't even care enough to check. "You are as shallow as mother." He clicked his tongue. "Don't cause trouble. I don't want you to tarnish our family's name with your stupidity."

River was thinking of a way to murder him and make it look like an accident if he insulted her again, but thankfully, after the final warning not to appear in public often, he let her go.

"Father is running for election, you can't ruin his hard efforts, understand?"

"Understood." River nodded like an obedient child. She wanted to lie down in her bed and start her searching.

"You can go now." Dylan waved his hand and River didn't wait for a second longer before she fled to her bedroom on the second floor.

The room was right in a corner, at the end of the corridor, and hidden. If you didn't have any intention to go to her bedroom, you wouldn't walk this part of the house.

Hazel used to feel depressed and sad because of this, she felt like she was being ostracized by her own family, but for River, this was a perfect spot. No one would bother her and they could mind their own business.

However, if there was someone, who actually would come to this part of the house, it must be Logan, Hazel's second brother. He was the only person who had any 'interaction' with Hazel the most.

"Went on a shopping spree, huh?" Logan asked, nodding at the bag in her hand, he was standing in front of Hazel's bedroom, leaning his back against the door, crossing his arms.

"Step aside," River said coldly. She didn't want to deal with him. Based on Hazel's memories, there was only one word that could describe him. A bully.

"Hm?" Logan raised his brows, quite surprised with River's harsh words. "You need to be polite to your older brother."

"Step aside, please." River only wanted to get it done quickly.

"That's better." Logan nodded, but he didn't move from his position and River couldn't enter her room.

"What else do you want?" River narrowed her eyes. Her patience was running thin and Logan was oblivious to that.

"You might think you can fool Dylan, but you can't fool me." Logan nodded at the bag in her hand. "You went out all day only to buy one item?"

River smirked. "What makes you think that you are smarter than Dylan when all the people know that he is the brain of the family, while you are only brat under his shadow?"

River knew where to hit him. It was a low blow for Logan's ego, because he had always been very insecure and jealous of Dylan.

"Don't talk nonsense!" Logan raised his hand and was about to slap her.

He had never slapped Hazel before, because the real Hazel wouldn't have talked this way, but River saw that and dodged the attack, which caught Logan by surprise and she used this opportunity to shove him to the side and go into her bedroom. She locked the door immediately, while Logan was cursing from the other side of the room.

River's eyes went cold, but she ignored his yapping and went about her own business. She was going to check what happened with her family and the business that she left behind.

And what kind of announcement that they would make to justify her disappearance.

River unboxed the laptop and set it up swiftly before she engrossed herself in the online information that she could get.

"This is disgusting," River growled dangerously. "All of you will pay for this!"

===============================

"Why do you want to know more about Hazel Rose?" Ares asked Ranon after they made sure they had gotten rid of all the evidence about what happened last night.

It was not hard, because like what Hazel said, Ranon only needed to take care of the problem inside the bedroom.

However, this weirdness only compelled Ranon to dig deeper about all the information about Hazel Rose.

"This is all I can report to you and all the information stated the same thing. Hazel Rose is just a normal woman from a prestigious family. Nothing less, nothing more. She doesn't have any social life aside from her university life."

"She is a weirdo," Lucian added. But then he got a phone call and his expression turned serious. "Yes, I got it. Hm. Keep him there."

"What is it?" Ares asked.

"Our men caught the instigator."
