THE INTENSE KILLING INTENSION

"What did you talk about with him?" Dylan came to Hazel's room the moment Ranon left the house. He didn't even get a chance to talk more with the man.

It was very predictable that Dylan would come to find out about her and Ranon's conversation.

This must be the first time for Dylan to step into her bedroom after so many years. He finally graced her with his presence.

"Nothing much," River replied. She closed her laptop and put it on the table beside her bed.

Dylan furrowed his brows. He didn't like this answer at all. "Tell me what happened between you two." He looked around this room. There was nothing much that had changed inside this room, but the owner had definitely changed.

"I think you know more about what happened between me and Ranon." River got off the bed and faced Hazel's brother. "Do you want to explain?"

Dylan could feel that something was off his timid little sister. Her eyes were no longer dead. She even dared to look him in the eyes, something that she didn't have the courage to do.

Since when has she changed?

"Did you spend the night with him?" Dylan crossed his arms in front of his chest. "How could that be possible when no one saw you come out of his bedroom?"

River clicked her tongue. This man didn't even have any shame when he admitted everything readily. He played it as if it was not a big deal for him when his own little sister spent the night with a stranger, but then, he was the mastermind behind it.

How obnoxious…

River used to think it would be nice to have a brother, but as it turned out, when she had one, she was better off as an only child.

"Don't you feel any shame? Drugging your own sister? I don't know that the well respected Dylan Rose will stoop that low." River smirked when she saw her words got on his nerves. Dylan's face turned red, he clenched his jaw.

"I secured your future for you, you should thank me."

"How? By making me sleep with a strange man?"

"The whole country knows who Ranon Leighton is. He is not a stranger." Dylan knew that he did the right thing. "Every woman wants to spend a night with him and I created that opportunity for you, you should be more grateful to me."

River was speechless, this man was unbelievably ridiculous. "Your shamelessness has no bounds."

A flash of anger flitted across Dylan's eyes and before he realized it, he raised his hand and was ready to slap Hazel so hard. His anger got the better of him.

However, River could see that coming and before he could touch her, she had taken a step back, dodging the attack, which shocked Dylan.

"Don't you dare to touch me," River said coldly. "I will make your life miserable and you'll regret everything that you have done to me."

Dylan could feel this intense killing intent that rolled off his little sister. Something that he had never thought was possible, for a moment, it shook him, but he wouldn't be in this position if he lost composure so fast.

"How dare you talk to your brother like that?!" Dylan started to take off the belt that he was wearing.

Ah.

Something like this happened in the past. Even though it was not an everyday event, in Hazel's memories, it happened a handful of times whenever she disobeyed her father.

"Don't you think I am too old for that, brother?" River's eyes turned dark with malice. "I thought only Father was allowed to beat me. Are you trying to take Father's role?"

One of the perks of having a dysfunctional family was you have a lot of anger stored inside you.

Dylan had enough of Hazel's disobedience and her smart mouth, he lashed his belt, but to his surprise, Hazel caught it and pulled it.

Not expecting this turn of events, Dylan lost his stance and felt himself pulled toward her, but when he moved closer, River grabbed a small flower vase on the nightstand and smashed it against his head hard.

Needless to say, when Dylan touched his head, he stared in disbelief at his hand that was now stained in the dark color of blood. Blood trickled down from his forehead to his cheek, neck and dirtied his shirt.

Everything happened so fast, Dylan needed time to discern what actually was happening and when he looked up to see his sister, Hazel stared at him viciously, her brown eyes that used to look so dull, were now ablaze with rage.

"Drugging your sister to make her sleep with another man, treating your sister like a whore to achieve your own goals… Someone like you is no better than a pest." River took a step closer. "Pull that trick again on me and you will regret it for the rest of your life."

After saying that, River took her laptop and stuffed it inside a bag. She wore her jacket and left her messy room. She didn't care what was going to happen to Dylan. She knew if someone was dying, but unfortunately, a small wound on his forehead wouldn't take his life.

Probably he would get a few stitches, but not lose his life…

River didn't stay to see the aftermath once Dylan regained his composure and realized what was going on, because she had to start moving on with her plan.

Squeezing Ranon into the equation was the best bet she had made, because he would increase the chances of her victory in her revenge plans. It would make things go smoother for her as well.

For now, she had to find a place to stay, but before that, she had to meet with her Joker. She couldn't discuss this matter with Ranon in Dylan's study room freely, thus she made an appointment to meet him in person outside of the Rose family house.

But, when River was about to use her card, it was declined.
