Sect?
What was that?
A school of some sort?
Bai Ming didn't understand what this meant? The owner of the voice didn't see a hint of confusion on the outside but inside Bai Ming's mind there were plenty of traces which meant confusion.
Could it be that he truly does not come from any sect?
Looking at the state of Bai Ming's mind the figure couldn't help but commend inwardly. No matter the level of cultivation, it was very rare to find such individuals with unshakable will and strong spirit. It was even more so to find such figures among the mortals.
Although the talent for cultivation seemed average, the figure didn't necessarily look down on Bai Ming like before. In its eyes Bai Ming was but a rough gem which only needed to be polished.
Given the immense potential this fellow might show, the figure thought of an idea.
"Young man, what is your name?"
Hearing this question, Bai Ming frowned and instead answered with a question.
"What do you want?"
The owner of that new voice didn't show any impatience or anger to this sort of response.
"I see, Bai Ming, what a good name"
After hearing his name from this figure Bai Ming was horrified.
"What? T-this can actually read my thoughts?"
"Who are you?"
He had underestimated this figure thinking that it could not as good as that honourable Dao Gu but clearly the other party wasn't too troubled by all this.
He had ignored this question thinking to himself that even if this new guest tried to use force he would not yield but now he was feeling a bit shaken. Things were not going to be easy this time around.
Although Bai Ming knew that when he heard that question, he had also repeated it in his mind but he did not realise that he had subconsciously thought of his name.
Such a thing was just too simple of a master who had lived for so long. Those with a cultivation base could at least guard some important thoughts but they would still be vulnerable.
However, Bai Ming was but a mortal. How could he defend against that.
Realising this new guest had such a trick Bai Ming wondered if this person already knows of his encounter with honourable Dao Gu. He wasn't sure how long this person had been spying on him but given that he had been thinking of the many things he had encountered when he got into this place then it wouldn't be a suprise if this figure is already aware of this.
The figure looked at Bai Ming's state of mind strangely.
Was it possible the young man was too stunned that no thoughts came out?
As an old monster, from countless years in the past. It was naturally more aware of how the mind of a human operates. There would always be thoughts floating about, whether they were important or not. There would always be something.
Right now, Bai Ming's mind was like a calm lake surface showing no ripples whatsoever.
Such a thin was virtually impossible but it was happening right now.
Bai Ming was still in thought unaware of all this.
The figure thought of the many mysteries it had experienced whilst walkiing the path. There were quite a few of them which fit Bai Ming's odd state of mind.
"Serene jade heart is one of the nine prerequisites for being a legacy disciple of a Buddhist sect. To think i would encounter such a thing here of all places. If i recall correctly those bald monks have been searching high and low for such a genius all this time but could not find it. It is even said that this mind heart is one of the foundation for their secret techniques. However, it appears this fellow isn't aware of this. The fact that i could read some of his thoughts means that he has not gained control of this ability. From what i heard, even when one is a first order essence cultivator, they can escape the prying of a master at vessel forging."
"Such talent..."
The figure was also too stunned to speak but it didn't take long for it to make a decision.
"I must have it..."
The figure's eyes seem to flash a cold light which quickly vanished.
Bai Ming who had been in deep thought wasn't aware of the many thoughts the intruder was having. After the figure said his name, it had remained silent and even the pressure it had exerted on him had vanished.
He wondered to himself, "Is it gone? Was it a ghost?"
However just when he was about to take a breath of relief he felt a chill spread all over him but that feeling disappeared immediately.
Bai Ming nearly jumped and cursed out loud.
It now appeared that the person had not left at all but was still around. The figure had only hidden. Knowing the other party could see through his thoughts Bai Ming felt the other party was playing tricks on him.
This visitor clearly knew of his thoughts but had taken the opportunity to scare him.
The figure also realised this but did not wish to explain.
"Young fellow, kow tow to me and I will accept me as my disciple. From today onwards you will be a cultivator who's virtue outshines even the most brightest stars."
Bai Ming heard these words and suddenly felt like laughing, what a joke!
Virtue?
What could this person teach him about virtue.
This person just barged into his mind and now asks him to be a follower.
The figure read these thoughts without any problem. It also understood how rude it had been but thinking back to its predicament it had no intention of negotiating with this young fellow. In its eyes the fellow didn't know what was good for them.
In that moment, the figure released a terrifying pressure inside Bai Ming's mind. Bai Ming let out a loud roar which startled the rest of the group in reality.
In that moment confusion and fear stormed the place but some still ran towards him to understand what was happening. Everyone seemed to forget about the deceased Mu Bai, Chi Huo saw Bai Ming rolling on the ground with his hands clutching his head. It seemed he was in intense pain, some blood seeped through his nose.
Never in his life had he experienced pain of such magnitude.
