Ghost Place

"Are you alright?"

Meeting the multiple eyeballs filled with questions, Bai Ming simply turned to look in the direction that led back to the outside of the castle.

The rest of the people who were ready to bombard him with questions paused for a moment. A few looked to the entrance but did not see anything out of the ordinary.

At this moment, the bloodied Bai Ming turned his head swiftly, looking to the other directions, but there was nothing there.

Everyone saw this and looked at each other in a puzzled manner. Wu Zhengyi looked back to him, thinking Bai Ming must have gone crazy.

Zi Yan let out a chuckle and sneered inwardly, "Hehe, it seems this group is full of cowards"

Si Niang noticed this and looked at him before shortly reverting his gaze back to Bai Ming.

Bai Ming noticed his actions were too odd and paused. His mouth opened a bit and closed once more. He did not know what to say.

How was he going to explain his oddity?

If he failed to think of something useful, then it wouldn't be long before everyone started to realise this.

"Bai Ming, are you alright?"

There was no time to explain anything, so Bai Ming chose the only option he had at hand.

He turned to the enquiring faces and felt his confidence diminish but he had no other choice at the moment because he knew better than anyone else that what was to come might be even more dangerous and without knowing the intentions of the ghosts then it wouldn't be a matter of time until everyone met their demise in this ghost place.

"I-I don't know really, I felt that something had grabbed my head and was trying to forcefully tear it apart into two"

Hearing this, Zi Yan couldn't hold himself back and burst into laughter.

"Haha, did you hear that? He says some ghosts grab his hand."

Si Niang and the rest had no words for this and only sighed. Chi Huo could only accredit this odd behaviour to the poison afflicting them, but he still did not reveal all of his thoughts, thinking to himself that this would not bring a favourable result.

No one commented on this thinking the same as Chi Huo, this made them feel just how dreadful this poison can be.

Chi Huo couldn't help but hurried, "We shouldn't stay too long here."

Everyone heard this, but they still had to think carefully before acting. They were in an unknown place and did not know where this path they had taken would lead to, but they had no other choice but to move.

What could they do?

They all understood this but still decided to move. Bai Ming looked at all this with an unmoved gaze. In his mind, he thought about everything that had happened so far and thought the group was underestimating this place.

In the other hunter's eyes, this place was no different from any other residence they had come across. The only difference was that this place seemed abandoned, but that didn't mean that exploration was impossible.

With these little thoughts in mind, they decided to move on.

As everyone were now beginning to explore this place, Si Niang walked in the opposite direction. They all noticed this and couldn't help but look at him, thinking that the poison had somehow gotten to him too. Si Niang ignored this and spoke slowly, "I will follow when i'm done"

No one said anything and kept moving forward. Although they had their doubts, they somehow guessed his motives in staying.

Zi Yan thought it was comical.

"Hmph, this wants to burn incense in this place?"

He nearly laughed, thinking to himself that this was all pointless.

Who would rest in peace after dying in such a way. In his eyes that Mu Bai seemed to have died with a belly full of grievances.

What bull peace. He couldn't help but quicken his pace and move forward.

Bai Ming looked at this and sighed in his heart.

It did take too long. In no time at all, Si Niang had already caught up with the rest of the group.

At this moment, everyone had their thoughts reeling. They now seemed more curious about the history of this place. Even as they thought about it, they had been no record of this place in the village. It appeared as if this place did not seem to exist.

Cui Rong's expression, on the other hand, couldn't be more stiff. It was unknown what she was thinking about. Anyone looking at her expression would simply think that she had become especially wary of this place. This was a normal thing without any hint of oddity. In their own understanding, a hunter's instincts were just that extraordinary.

"This place..."

Her thoughts were completely in disarray. The passage they had passed was filled with remains of the dead. If we were just one or two, it would not have been a problem, but as they walked further, more and more corpses appeared. This sight did not match the grand castle they saw outside.

It looked to be more like the castle of the king of hell. Bai Ming walked in the middle of the group. He did not seem too shocked by this castle, but he was still surprised. He knew this place, which seemed to have ghosts who wielded power beyond his imagination, was dangerous, but he did not think it would be this frightful.

How did they all die like this?

He wasn't the only one thinking of this. The rest were equally puzzled. With their level of understanding, they wondered why none of these deceased tried to escape. Looking at the traces left behind, some seemed to have had their bodies grinded into dust. Not even the bones were spared. Some had their bodies split vertically into two pieces, and some had scars, cuts of varying degrees on different body parts.

Even as they all could see this, they could not find any trace of the weapons they used. Logic dictated that it was impossible for these cuts to have been made by humans.

As this thought floated in his mind, that figure's voice echoed in his mind once again. Bai Ming couldn't help but shiver for a moment.

What was this master thinking of doing this time?

Even as he was worried about something horrible coming, nothing happened. Soon, they reached a large courtyard filled with lush green vegetation. Leaves that had fallen off were continuously floating about in the courtyard. It appeared as if they had walked into a paradise.

There was no sign of anyone tending to these flowers. Bai Ming's mind paused for a moment. This place was simply too unpredictable. He had expected to walk in a dark gloomy room, but instead, he was met with a vibrant world full of flowers and petals.

Of all the people present, Chi Huo was especially ecstatic. He didn't think he would find a garden of flowers. If these were ordinary flowers, so be it, but in his eyes, they were not. He took a whiff of the air in this place and felt like his spirit was about to escape the confines of his body.

"This...is a treasure land..."

Everyone heard this and turned to look at him, wondering what treasures he had picked up that they had not seen.

Never in his life did he expect to find a place so full of treasures. To others, all that was there was just some grass and flowers, but to him, this was a dream come true.

"So many herbs to choose from"

Was this not the dream of every healer? Some were talented but lacked resources to make new medicines. Even those who had a bit of wealth did not have it all. Their herbs would not be in plentiful supply to support their work.

This sort of work also required a bit of experimentation in order to discover new and effective medicines. Since there was no end to diseases and illnesses were ever changing, then it demanded there also be more medicines.

With this much resources, there was no limit to what Chi Huo could do. Such a thought ran through his mind, and more importantly, the air in this courtyard seemed to carry a healing effect to it.

Everyone seemed to feel it too, but Bai Ming, Cui Rong, and Si Niang felt its effects strongly.

"This..."

Starting with the three, everyone seemed to feel a burning sensation in their bodies as if there was a fierce battle of the end of the world. In the next moment, the sensation vanish. None of them could understand what had happened, but Bai Ming had a bad feeling creep up to him. It was not painful at all, nor was it too obvious to the point where they could they could notice it.

Chi Huo couldn't think too much about it and moved with hurried steps towards the nearest bunch of treasure. This was his time. He felt like pouring a river of tears. How many times had he dreamt of this? They were simply uncountable.
