(Third Person POV)
"They're going to start already?!" Otto exclaimed, "Baelon, whay are you thinking?!"
Baelon stared the others down, "What's it going to be?"
Trevor began to chuckle, "So impatient, aren't you?" He said, "Very well. If you wish to rush to your death, then let us begin this, Prince Baelon!"
Viserys stood up, "Hold it." He said firmly, "Before the fighting commences, you must understand that you are here before the Gods to partake in this trial. Those fighting on behalf of Trevor are currently deemed Traitors. However, should Trevor and his champions be pardoned, then they would be pardoned of the crime and as such, Trevor would also be pardoned."
As he said this, Everyone began to walk inside the arena as rhey lined up and faced against each other. The spectators were watching with pure suspense; they were about to witness a serious event.
A Trial By Seven was not something so common; the last one took place decades ago when Maegor Targaryen ascended the throne. And now, another one would take place; one that will decide the fate of the realm.
Would Baelon lose his life? Or will his bloodlust and thirst for revenge be satiated?
"The Trial will commence and will not end until one side is either dead or have yielded." Viserys continued, "A fighter will fight until he dies or he decides to yield; should his injuries be too severe for him to continue, he will yield automatically."
Trevor waved the King off, "Yes yes." He said, "We are aware. How about we get right to the point?"
"We can both agree on that." Baelon said
Viserys let out a sigh, "The gods are witnessing this Trial." He said, "You can commence now, may their fortune be with you."
A few seconds after the King himself allowed for the Trial to start, there was nothing but a tense silence. The champions stared each other down as they held their weapons. Their eyes met against each other, nothing but animosity between some of them. Of course, Prince Baelon was the most intense out of all of them; his eyes piercing right through Trevor as he had waited a long time for this.
From the stands, the Royal Family could not help but watch anxiously. The Queen held on to Princess Heleana's hand tightly as she merely watched with a concerned face.
"Baelon…." She said softly as she looked at her husband, "Please be safe…."
"Gods…" Alicent said under her breath, "Protect my boys, Please."
Near them, the Princess Rhaenyra could not help but clutch onto the skirt of her dress as she watched; sweat rolling down her forehead as her body slightly trembled with anxiety.
This was the last thing she wanted; for her husband to face off against her brother, the man that she loved. Her heart was wounded and was in pain, she did not want to be there. She did not want to see Baelon get hurt nor did she desire for men to lose their lives because of something she felt was responsible for.
But none of that mattered as Prince Baelon took the first step forward.
"Enough of this…." He said as he raised Blackfyre, "I am not here as a Prince….as a dragonrider….No…I am here as a man, a man who will fight for his family."
"Hm." Trevor said with a smirk,"Is that so? How convenient. Tell me, is that what you want us to think? When in reality, you want my wife for you-"
"Enough of that shite." Baelon cut him off, "Are you that insecure that you believe that everything I do is just so I can have Rhaenyra?! You are a pathetic low-life of a man. I admit, you never deserved her but I don't do this for her, I do this for my wife! You ruined the one day she was the happiest and your stupid presence makes her uneasy so I will kill you, your comrades, and be done with it!"
"Ho?" Trevor said with a sneer, "Interesting…."
"Of course, your insult to my eldest sister is one reason why I ought to cut your head off." Baelon continued, "But who am I to choose? Come, meet your end!"
Daron stepped forward, drawing his blade, "You talk too much." He said before lunging at Baelon, "The fight has begun."
He swung his sword only for Baelon to parry it. The prince then kicked him back and left Daron staggering. The bastard then straightened up and swung his sword again only for it to be blocked by Aemond who had stepped forward.
"Mm." Aemond said as he gave Daron a serious stare, "And who are you to swing your blade at my brother?"
Daron chuckled, "Look at this." He said as he stepped back,"How many princes will line up to die today?"
"None." Aemond said, "But it would take one to slay you, you impertinent cunt."
"Ho!" Daron said, "The mouth on this one!"
Aemond swung his sword and the two began to clash. The moment this happened, everyone else pounced. All other champions lunged with their weapons drawn and clashed against each other.
The loud sound of steel colliding against each other echoed throughout the air, leaving the ears of those who heard it ringing. While it was a common sound, the clash of steel, it was still somewhat disturbing to hear as the spectators were not used to being this close to fighting of this magnitude.
Helaena's eyes were glued on Baelon and every time her husband clashed against against someone, her hear skipped a bit and she jumped up slightly. Anxiety filled her body and she could help but cling on to her mother's arm who shared the same sentiment.
"B-Baelon…." She whispered
Baelon had parried a sword swing from Harwin Strong and pushed him away, blocking a sword swing from Arryk Cargylle, kicking him almost immediately. He then parried another sword swing from the Targaryen Bastard Daron who had taken the opportunity to swing at the Prince.
"Tch…" Baelon said as he saw Trevor sneak past the formation of four men, "You little…."
Trevor lunged right at Baelon, thrusting his blade at the prince. Baelon deflected the thrust and tried to counter with a riposte but Trevor had already jumped away.
"Whoa!" Trevor said with a smirk, "That is dangerous."
Baelon readied a stance as he stared Trevor down, "Don't chicken out." He said seriously, "Come at me seriously."
"This is me fighting seriously." Trevor said as he pointed his blade at him, "I intend to kill you today, Prince Baelon."
"Well, I hope you are ready for disappointment." Baelon said,
"For the one that is going to be killed is you."
