Chapter 183: Hurry Up

Chapter 183: Hurry Up

[Skeleton Swordsman (Level 10)][Skeleton Warrior (Level 9)][Skeleton Ranger (Level 8)...]

The attributes of the skeletons appeared clearly before Wu Heng.

The White Wolf Gang was indeed a large gang, and their strength wasn't low.

The leader was a Level 10 swordsman, and the other key members were Level 8 or 9 professionals.

With these figures in place, the gang truly held some power.

If the Spikes Gang had relied solely on themselves, they wouldn't have had the qualifications to fight the White Wolf Gang.

Taking down the White Wolf Gang had been possible only because of the heavy machine gun's power.

Wu Heng gave these skeletons to Wen Mansa with his own plans in mind.

This time, Wen Mansa had played a major role.

Not only had she delayed the Secret Cult's plan to capture the maid, but she also followed orders to wipe out the White Wolf Gang.

Even though Wen Mansa was his slave, bound by a slave contract and forced to obey him.

Her performance had been outstanding, contributing greatly to the operation.

However, Wen Mansa's actions might also draw attention from various powers.

Her safety needed to be considered.

Gang members couldn't be fully trusted; these skeletons were essential.

After all, only one member of the Secret Cult, Gianluan, had died. There could still be others watching from the shadows.

Wen Mansa's eyes widened.

First, she was surprised, and then she became overjoyed.

She knew a bit about the value of undead servants.

The simplest and most direct value was their absolute loyalty.

Even if you ordered them to rush into a fire for something trivial.

They would do it without hesitation.

In a gang, loyalty was rarer than gold.

And these skeletons had once founded the White Wolf Gang.

Now, they were being handed to her.

Not only would this solidify her position, but the Spikes Gang would also inherit the foundation of the White Wolf Gang.

With some careful management for a while.

Once the numbers reached a certain level, the Spikes Gang would become a major force in the outer district, far stronger than before.

Thinking of this, Wen Mansa became even more excited.

She cautiously looked up, her gaze toward Wu Heng growing more affectionate, "Master, you're so good to me."

"You've earned it." Wu Heng then turned to the skeletons and said, "From now on, follow her commands."

Clatter!

The skeletons walked out of the pile of rotting flesh and stood behind Wen Mansa.

Wu Heng continued, "Give them names, so it's easier to assign tasks."

Wen Mansa nodded and began naming the skeletons one by one.

Unlike Wu Heng's numbering system, Wen Mansa used their original names.

After all, they had been gang members, and she knew some of their information.

Wu Heng moved to the side.

He retrieved the heavy machine gun he had given Wen Mansa the previous night.

It was something he had taken from the prison's walls. He didn't necessarily need to reinstall it, but leaving it here wasn't wise.

If it got lost or some organization copied it.

It would be a problem for him.

If Wen Mansa needed it again later, he could give it back, but for now, he stored it away.

After naming the skeletons, Wen Mansa hurried over, intimately holding his arm, and whispered, "Master, is the inner district matter settled?"

It seemed the news about the inner district hadn't spread yet.

At least, Wen Mansa hadn't received any intel.

"It's mostly resolved. If the Iron Guard Knights investigate, just claim you don't know anything. Make up a grudge with the White Wolf Gang if you need to. Be cautious when you go out, to avoid any issues," Wu Heng advised.

"I'll be careful," Wen Mansa replied, pulling him toward the room.

Wu Heng, seeing her eagerness, said, "Not now. Your boys are outside. It wouldn't be good if they heard."

"No one's coming in. Hurry up."

The two entered the room, and Wen Mansa quickly began removing her clothes.

She threw herself into his arms, passionately kissing him while stripping off his clothes as well.

Wu Heng lifted her up.

And set her on the desk behind him.

......

In the afternoon, Wu Heng left Wen Mansa's residence.

He returned to the inner district.

He didn't immediately go to pick up his two maids.

Instead, he headed to a residential area in the inner district.

The Secret Cult member known as 'Kapuro' lived here.

When he used Speak with Dead on Gianluan, Kapuro had been mentioned as one of the people aware of the assassination plan against Wu Heng, along with Arnel.

Now that the Iron Guard Knights were conducting investigations.

Even without solid evidence, Kapuro was an unstable element.

Wu Heng needed to assess the situation and plan his next move.

He waited in a dark alley, and Glenda, who had been keeping watch, flew back in stealth mode.

Hovering in mid-air, she said quietly, "The person you mentioned isn't in the building. Only the butler and a few servants are inside. Could we have the wrong location?"

He's not here?

That shouldn't be. Based on Wu Heng's intel.

Kapuro should be living here. Even if he had left temporarily, there should still be traces of him.

"The information says he lives here. Something might've happened."

Wu Heng muttered, pulling the 'Veil of Illusion' from his spatial ring and putting it on.

He transformed into a burly female mercenary and walked out of the alley.

Approaching the building.

Knock, knock!

He knocked heavily on the door twice.

The door opened, revealing a middle-aged man in a butler's uniform who looked Wu Heng up and down and asked, "What business do you have?"

"I had an appointment with Mr. Kapuro. Is he home?" Wu Heng said.

"Oh, so you're the lady who had an appointment with the master." The butler thought for a moment, handed over three silver coins, and said, "The master had to leave unexpectedly, and he might not be back for a while. Come back another time."

Wu Heng stared blankly as he accepted the money, not quite understanding.

"Why did he leave so suddenly?" he asked.

"We don't know either. You could leave an address, and when the master returns, we'll send someone to contact you," the butler said. "If you're accompanying the master, you might want to freshen up a bit next time. Don't come dressed like this."

"Alright, I'll come back later," Wu Heng said, turning to leave.

The butler, standing at the door, muttered something about "The master's tastes getting weirder" before closing the door.

Wu Heng returned to the alley and removed the veil.

It was clear that the fat man had fled.

After hearing the news about Gianluan this morning, Kapuro must have figured something out and made a quick escape.

For someone of his size, he sure reacted quickly.

Leaning against the wall, Wu Heng thought for a moment.

His departure was actually beneficial. Since Kapuro wasn't in the city and there were no phones in this world, it meant the Iron Guard Knights couldn't track him.

By the time he returned to testify, if he even dared to come back.

It would be hard for him to present any credible evidence.

Knowing Kapuro's cowardice, there was no telling if he would even return.

After thinking it over, Wu Heng left the alley and walked away.

......

At the Snake Emblem Consortium.

In the reception room.

"Master, you've come to pick us up!" Minnie exclaimed, rushing over from a few meters away.

Wu Heng caught her in his arms and gently patted her back.

Behind her was Andviel, along with Lecia, dressed in a silk gown.

"Be good. Go wait for me at the door. We'll head home in a bit," Wu Heng said.

The two nodded and left the reception room, closing the door behind them.

Lecia sat elegantly on a chair, her legs crossed, curiously eyeing him. "I didn't expect you to have two little maids."

"The steward assigned them to me. They take care of my daily life," Wu Heng casually explained.

Humans didn't like true orcs, but they were quite fond of fox-girls and rabbit-girls with human features and animal traits.

It wasn't unusual for someone as young and wealthy as Wu Heng to have two maids at home.

Lecia merely teased him and didn't linger on the subject.

Instead, she asked, "Was it you who dealt with Gianluan?"

"I've heard about it, but it wasn't me. Do you think I'm capable of that?" Wu Heng replied.

He had entrusted the maids to Lecia.

And then, that same night, the incident had occurred.

With Lecia's intelligence, she had probably already figured out what happened.

The consortium also had its own sources of information. When combined, they likely pointed to him.

Wu Heng wasn't worried about Lecia betraying him.

But there were some things he could never admit.

If he did, it would only make things more complicated.

Lecia rolled her eyes at him. "Gianluan was a member of the Secret Cult."

"Oh?" Wu Heng looked at her, "Do you know any other members?"

"What are you planning? Are you seriously thinking of killing them all?" Lecia asked in surprise.

"I told you, it wasn't me," Wu Heng emphasized, continuing, "Thank you for taking care of the maids."

"Ha! You didn't exactly give me a choice when you dropped them off."

"You're a true friend. Let me know if you need any favors."

"Help me with this year's gold business," Lecia said, resting her chin on her hand.

She had clearly set her sights on him for the gold deal.

She brought it up every time, as if Wu Heng was the only one in Rentam City who had any gold.

"Uh... I'll see what I can do," Wu Heng replied.

They chatted for a while longer.

Wu Heng asked about skill books and then said his goodbyes.

He left the consortium.

......

He returned home with the maids.

Although they didn't know the details, they sensed it was related to the criminals who had come to their house earlier.

"Master, is everything alright now?" Andviel asked.

"Yes, everything's fine. We'll reopen the shop tomorrow. I'll also arrange for new guards," Wu Heng said.

"Alright, Master."

After giving a few brief instructions.

Wu Heng went upstairs while the maids began preparing dinner downstairs.

Soon, Minnie's soft humming could be heard.

Wu Heng opened the portal and entered the zombie world.

Stepping out of the office building.

Outside, rows of skeletons stood neatly.

They were lined up in perfect formation.

In the distance, Qiangzi and the others were playing basketball, with the women sitting nearby, chatting and watching.

Inside the prison, it no longer resembled an apocalyptic scene.

Wu Heng glanced in that direction but didn't pay much attention.

He took out the armor from his spatial ring.

Along with 200 sets of leather armor, he had also bought 60 sets of metal plate armor.

He placed the leather armor to the side and had the Big-Head Skeleton direct the regular skeletons to line up and take their armor.

Wu Heng himself took the 60 sets of metal plate armor and moved aside.

"Alright, come here. Put on your armor."

Fireblade and the other skeletons he had converted last night all came over.

They picked up the armor from the ground and began putting it on.

Once equipped, the armor really added to their imposing presence.

......

Not long after, Li Yanhong walked over briskly.

"You've been cooped up for days."

"Yeah," Wu Heng nodded, then said, "From now on, Barson will stay with you to ensure your safety."

"Huh? Are you sure that's okay?"
