"Mad?" Aiden chuckled, shaking his head. "You were about to be harmed. Do you even understand the seriousness of the situation?" He reprimanded Roderick.
Roderick sighed, running his fingers through his hair as his gaze fell on the two men sprawled on the floor. "Did Maxwell send you to harm me?" he asked sharply.
"Yes," the one on the left admitted with a bruised cheek. "He approached our boss."
Roderick's jaw tightened, and without hesitation, he pulled out his phone, dialing Maxwell's number. But before the call could connect, Roger snatched the device from his hand.
"You're not calling him," Roger stated firmly, slipping the phone into his pocket. "He'll be here shortly."
"Are you serious, Roger?" Roderick's voice rose, his irritation boiling over. "I hate what you all do. I've told you that a thousand times."
