Roger, can we talk?

After the charity event concluded, Alekis pulled Layla aside, his gaze filled with surprise.

"Lucius and Roderick didn't clash today. What did you do?" he asked, studying her intently.

Layla sighed, recalling the tense moment at the graveyard. "I told them to act like mature men, and I think I still hold some influence over Roderick because of our past relationship. I ended up scolding him there," she admitted, a trace of guilt in her voice.

Alekis gave her an approving nod. "You did the right thing. Rick always loses his temper when he sees Lucius on this day. I'm relieved they managed to keep the peace. You truly are a remarkable woman, Layla. I'm proud of you," he said, offering her a warm smile.

Layla felt a wave of appreciation at his words. "Thank you, Father," she said sincerely. Then, glancing around, she noted Fiona's unusually pale expression. "Sister Fiona doesn't seem well today. Should I visit the house tonight?"
