I can't train you anymore, because of the Alpha

"I am with child do you believe it Kara," Acantha said clapping her hands

"Congratulations milady," Kara said, with a smile

Acantha found the thought of having a child with Ghod delightful. She began to consider how best to tell him about the pregnancy.

"If I am going to have a child, it was best the child stayed out of the rough politics in the park." Acantha said again to kara

"Not only would it be difficult, milady, but it would almost be impossible". Kara agreed with her.

So, Shirley decided to keep the baby a secret from Ghod for the time being, but then Ghod was not just an alpha.

He was a wolf, a leader; a very smart one and could also pick up scents from afar. It would be easy for him to pick up or notice the baby's presence whenever they spend time together.

So, Acantha made up her mind to tell him later on in the day.

However, her daily training with Alpha's Beta Theo is still held. It was still early in the morning;

While Acantha pondered how best to approach Ghod about the pregnancy, she began preparing for her training with Theo. Maybe a sword fight will help shake off her anxiety.

When Acantha got to Theo's training ground, she found him bare-chested, a sword in his right hand and a couple of wooden scarecrows around him in the courtyard.

Theo immediately swung his sword into action at the wooden scarecrows, sweat dripping down his bare back while it glistered in the early morning sun.

Theo was easily one of the best swordsmen in the valley and Acantha couldn't help but wonder how he got so strong and talented at fighting.

"You shouldn't be here," Theo said, hitting the wood with his sword.

"I thought I was quiet enough; how did you know it was me?" Acantha asked.

"Are you asking that? I'm a wolf, of course."

"Oh yeah, I keep forgetting that I'm not one," Acantha said with a tone of sarcasm.

To which Theo decided to ignore. Acantha walked over to where the swords were stacked together;

she pulled out one of the swords from the stack, and just as she was about to take a swing, Theo stopped her.

"What do you think you're doing?" Theo asked while holding Acantha's hand to prevent any further swing.

"What does it look like I'm doing?" Acantha asked, countering back.

"I meant it when I said you shouldn't be here", Theo said while he walked back to where he stood before. He resumed his fighting stance while gripping the sword, ready for another swing.

"What do you mean by I'm not meant to be here? We agreed that you'll teach me how to be a good swordsman. You've been doing a great job, and I know I still have much to learn. So, more than anything, I need to be here." Acantha said while placing the sword back in its stack;

she walked up to where Theo stood while she watched.

"You see, that's the problem…"

"What problem?" Acantha quickly cut in before he could finish up

"Look", Theo said, after which he took a swing at the wood " I can't train you.

Even though I must admit that you're a bright and fast student, all this is too risky for you," he said while taking another swing, followed by a deep exhale.

"Well, I have been managing the risks well, haven't I?" Acantha asked.

"Of course, but what about the risks involved with me?" Theo asked, now taking a rest from his training.

"What risks?" Acantha asked

"My life"

"Your life?"

"Yes, my life!"

"I don't get it," Acantha said with her hand in the air.

"I can't train you anymore simply because you're mated to the Alpha. I've been told not to; he is Alpha, not just any alpha, a dangerous one. So, you see, I stand to share some risk, too, which I'm not ready to share."

Acantha was momentarily silent; she never knew Ghod had already learned about her training.

She had done her best to be discreet about it, but Ghod still got to find out. This only implied that it was just a matter of time before Ghod learned about her pregnancy.

"I understand your fears; they are very valid, but I need this training. It's the only thing I can be proud of as a woman. All my life, I've been victimized because I couldn't turn to my wolf form as I didn't have one, but now I see something I'm good at, and I'm loving it," Acantha said

"I can't, I can't train you more than this," Theo said, maintaining his former position.

"Look, something strange happened to me some days ago", Acantha said, quickly drawing Theo's attention to her. "What?" Theo asked

"I was out in the fields trying to take some personal sword lessons when a bolt of lightning came forth from my hand and Into the atmosphere. It was strange and I had lost consciousness for a while. What I'm saying is I think I might have some powers which are good but I still need to be skilled. I still need this training; we can do this more discreetly. I understand the risks, and I promise to keep you safe," Acantha said

Theo thought it over after a pause; he knew the odds were against him if she got into harm, but what if there was no guarantee of no harm?

"Okay, agreed. We'll be more discreet with our training as long as you promise nothing will happen to me."

"I promise," Acantha said.

They resumed back training. While they trained on. Acantha quickly dashed out into a nearby bush and vomited on the grass.

Theo, who had followed her quick steps, stood at a close distance till she was done.

"You're with child," Theo said as she whipped her mouth clean. Acantha turned over, but before she could say anything, Theo stopped her.

"That won't be necessary; you must go home and rest. I'm sorry, but I will no longer be training you. That's final," Theo said with a stern voice.
