WOULD YOU LOVE TO COME IN?

"Ahhhhhh"

Meliana groaned as her leg hit another stone; she let out a cry of pain.

She wasn't familiar with the life outside the pack, where she was alone, left to fend for herself without anyone there.

It's currently dark, and yet she hasn't eaten anything; all the fruits she saw on her way are either unripe or too high to pluck.

And to top it all, she had to constantly look behind her before a feral rogue saw her as a meal and attacked her.

She's technically a rogue, too, but a feral rogue doesn't recognize anyone or anything, not even their family; they're practically crazy.

Her stomach grumbled for the umpteenth time today, reminding her that she hadn't fed it anything else other than the water she took from a stream in the morning.

She has been away from the pack for two days, but it feels like an eternity. Each time she faced some difficulty or remembered what put her in the situation, she hated Acantha even more.

Ghod wouldn't have sent her away if not for her, she wouldn't even be in the middle of the forest in the first place if she didn't happen to be his mate.

'You know, what we should be doing now is looking for ways to survive and not point accusing fingers at other people.' Her wolf said, already tired of her antics.

'Are you seriously saying that right now? Didn't you also want the Luna position? You think I would stand at the sidelines and watch her take my position?' She shot back at her.

'And now that you've retaliated, look where that got us.'

Meliana only bit her tongue; she didn't want to reply to her wolf now, or she'd end up being alone; she was the only one she had for now.

But no one would convince her to think she was wrong for doing what she did; she only wanted to mark her territory; she needed to get that girl out of her way.

As for Ghod, she would get her revenge on him for sending her out of his pack and disgracing her like that, just for someone he met months ago.

F*ck the mate bond; she has been with him for a long time. She doesn't deserve to be treated like trash!

She was so engrossed in what she was thinking about that she didn't look at where she was going anymore that she didn't know that certain people were looking at her.

When she heard twigs breaking, she looked up; she was startled by that, effectively getting out of the trance she was lost in.

"Wh- who's that?" She asked with a shaky voice, probably the dumbest thing she could have done.

She didn't hear anyone say anything, nor did she see anything, though she could feel someone's presence; it was even more than one person.

Her heart started racing fast, and her brain switched between flight and flight mode. She couldn't move her body no matter how much she wanted to; she was too frightened to move.

She stood rooted to the spot as she heard real footsteps come behind her this time. And her heart raced even more now that she confirmed that people were with her in the forest.

"What's a lady doing out here by herself?" A male voice that made her swallow thickly said behind her.

She slowly turned around to come face to face with the person who said they were three, tall and muscly.

"Please don't kill me." She found herself begging them.

It sounded pathetic, but there was no way she could take on three grown men; they looked skilled, too.

"What? Why should we kill you? You didn't offend us, did you?" Another one said.

"Other than trespassing on our land, you've done nothing wrong." The last guy said.

"I'm on your land? I'm so sorry; I'll leave right away." She moved to walk away from there but was stopped by them.

"You don't look like you have a particular destination in mind." The guy who talked first said.

"Uh, I do. I'll leave now." The last thing she wanted was to be caught in the web of another pack again.

"No, you don't. Look, I'm not begging you to stay, but I'll have you know that the moment you move away from this pack, it is a den of rogues." He said again.

Her heart dipped at the mention of rogues; those creatures were what she had been trying so hard not to come across.

"Well, I don't have a choice; it's not like I have anywhere else to go." She shrugged.

"You'd rather die than pass the night here?" He asked her.

"You want me to pass the night here?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We can't watch a stranded lady walk into the den of rogues. You can even retain the pack if you want; that's after you pass the tests."

"Alph-" one of the guys with him tried to say, but he lifted a finger at him.

Meliana's suspicion about him being the leader among them was confirmed; he just had that aura around him.

"What's the name of this pack?" She asked; she wasn't going to enter a pack she knew nothing about; she'd have surely heard the pack's name before, no matter how small it was.

"I'm Alpha Arthur."

That was all she needed to know before her heart dipped; everyone knew Author. He's one of the strongest Alphas there is.

His powers and abilities are not by merits but obtained through dubious and sinister means.

"This is the pack th-" Authur himself cut her off. "Yes, it is; would you love to come in, Meliana?"

She wasn't even shocked that he knew her name; the pack is rumored to have a lot of powers, including fetish ones.

She nodded briskly; this time more confident. She now has a plan in her head; she is going to stay here and use the pack to get revenge for her. Ghod and Acantha sure don't know what will hit them soon.
