The Void Serpent's New Allies?

Uravis mind raced with different thoughts as he walked into the temple, where he assumed Claire and Elyria would be.

Behind him Vasquez followed, probably thinking as well because he went silent seconds ago.

He switched to Arcanis before Vasquez, having no problem with it because the man knows more than he is supposed to.

He made his way out of the temple through another door and there he found Elyria and Claire meditating, with different coloured orbs hovering around them slowly.

A smile appeared on his face when he saw them, but he had to discuss something very important with Elyria and Vasquez, together.

He walked over to Claire, crouched down beside her, waiting for the right time to interfere. He watched her inhale and exhale, releasing all her stress and tensions.

He felt guilty for dragging her into his new chaotic life, barely sleeping and always fighting for ones life. He could only hope everything goes well so she could rest.

He shook off the sappy feelings, because they served as distractions...and she offered to help. He tapped on her shoulder, instantly disrupting everything.

The colourful orbs exploded leaving glitters behind, Claire's eyes slowly opened at the same moment, but he noticed something.

Her sclera was completely green instead of white, matching her iris, and the same thing happened with Elyria. He watched as their eyes slowly returned to normal before facing him.

"You need something?" Claire asked, her tone calm and relaxed. It felt like she had just woken up from hours of sleep and had a cool bath.

He cleared his throat and rose to his full height, he also helped her up and stood back. "Are you done with the Princess?"

Claire's brows curved questionably, she moved her gaze to Elyria who was still dazed, she then turned to him and nodded, earning a smile from him.

"Great," he said and walked over to Elyria, "Your high..... Elyria," he quickly said, trying not to anger her again. "Can we talk?"

"Uhm sure," she glanced at Vasquez then back to him, "I hope there is nothing wrong?"

"Not at all, I just want to talk to you," he replied hoping she wouldn't ask another question. He was already fed up with her extreme politeness, she didn't want to be given a title yet she acts like one with a title.

Arcanis led Elyria and Vasquez away from the temple and deeper into the forest where he assumed they could talk.

He found a spot close to a river with logs of wood positioned around burnt wood, showing someone had already been there.

Elyria sat down before even being asked to, she was exhausted from the energy she used up a while ago, even relaxing with Claire made her weaker.

Vasquez on the other hand stood beside Arcanis, enjoying his 'divine' scent, he had no intention of acknowledging Elyria or anyone besides his Guild and Nightshade.. Uravis in general.

"So why are we here?" Vasquez finally asked as he moved his eyes to Elyria who looked strangely familiar, but was too lazy to try and remember. "I have better things to do. Like get to know how strong my new ally is," he added, sending a quick wink at Arcanis.

Unfortunately he rolled his eyes and took a step away from Vasquez, he took one last look around and then began speaking.

"I want you both to accompany me to the city close by," he finally said, saying the words like it was a confession that he had been trying to hide for months.

"Why?" Elyria asked, her brows raised as she wondered why he needed someone to accompany when he was already strong and independent.

She didn't even understand why he needed a massive army.

"I got word from my past team that those working for the Void Serpent were spotted there and I want to investigate," he then paused and exhaled.

"I do not want to go alone because I am not a solo fighter," he admitted, although it was not entirely true, he could fight alone, but it would not be easy, considering the fact he was still getting used to his new Identity.

But fighting alongside strong allies was better, especially with a deranged psychopath and a rage Princess.

"I am glad you said that, I could stretch my limbs a little," Vasquez said, flexing his arms, his eyes drifted to Elyria for no reason then he smirked, "Why choose her and not your sister? Claire seems to be better at summoning," he added, now gaining Elyria's attention.

"I chose her because she is experienced, Claire does not fight at all, but summons and sets traps," Arcanis stated, taking another step away from Vasquez, "Being a princess does not mean she is weak."

Vasquez shrugged, then sauntered over to Elyria and walked behind her, "Let's see who impresses him better," he whispered to her with a native language only she could understand. He leaned closer with a smirk, "You still smell good.....Touched?"

"Absolutely not," she replied with the same language, oblivious of how Arcanis stared at them in confusion. "And please stay away from me."

"Or what? Your empty threats still won't work on me. You dare attempt anything, I only have to pin you down and draw blood," Vasquez warned and threatened her with a low gutteral tone that sent shivers down her spine.

"You will regret it, Vasquez."

"I won't, stay out of my way and I won't do anything," he then chuckled dryly, "And also, stop wearing your thoughts on your sleeves. Not all might see it, but I do and it is pathetic."

That being said, he made his way back to Arcanis with an innocent smile despite the confusion and curiosity plastered on his face.

"What did you tell her? and, what was that language you both where speaking?" He asked before Vasquez would walk off and avoid his questions.

"I just told her not to corrupt your scent with hers, I am sure she would taste horrible," Vasquez replied, feigning a disgusted expression.

He glanced at Elyria who glared at him with flames in her eyes, but he smiled totally unbothered, "When do we leave?"

"Tonight."

________

Two hours was all they needed to rest, the forest was silent as well as the tents, Elyria and Uravis used the same tent, all in the name of protection, while Vasquez slept at the top of the temple bathing in the moonlight.

The moment the second hour passed, Vasquez vanished from where he was and appeared in Uravis' tent.

His face squeezed in annoyance as his eyes settled on the piece of cloth, tied to Elyria's hand, that Uravis gripped like his life depended on it.

He scoffed and held out his finger, aiming at the cloth. Without hesitating, he fired a tiny bolt of lightening from his fingers and it cut the scarf.

He smiled triumphantly and carried Uravis on his shoulder, he put a collar around Elyria and vanished with both of them.

He then appeared at the same spot Uravis took them to earlier, he left Elyria on one of the logs to continue sleeping while he walked away holding Uravis.

When he saw he was far enough from Elyria, he put Uravis down and took off his mask, his eyes settled on Uravis neck. His spotless throat calling out to him like a spell.

However he shook off the urges and tapped Uravis a dozen times, after which he rose to his full height and gazed down at him. "You are still exhausted, Uravis. Do you want to prospone this?" He asked after noticing Uravis was aware of his surroundings.

"No," Uravis answered weakly as he dragged himself up with much effort. "Where is she?" he added, scanning through the forest and taking out the glass slab from his pocket.

"I left her by the river," Vasquez trailed off and sighed, "Going up against the Void Serpent's slaves without an army is not something I would recommend."

"Why so?" Uravis asked as he scrolled through the glass slab in his palms.

"I lost five of my strongest during a raid," Vasquez admitted, his tone low and filled with regrets. He was silently blaming himself for the loss, Uravis saw it and felt the pain he must have been through.

"I am sorry about that," Uravis sincerely said, "But I won't let anything happen to my team and yours, even if I die trying. Besides I've faced the Void Serpent's....uhm.. slaves on my own."

"How did that turn out?"

"Good enough," He smiled and put the slab back in his pocket, "They are no match for Nightshade..."

"Vendetta," Vasquez interrupted earning an eye roll.

"Whatever," Uravis waved him off, "I know a few of their tactics because they seem to be trained by the same person. But my ability has its limit, that's why I need you and Elyria."

"What makes you think we can fight when you have reached your limit?"

"Your abilities are like that of Night....Vendetta's and maybe even more advanced because I still haven't unlocked most of his abilities yet."

"Elyria on the other hand," he chuckled, "She summons, fights and any slight mistake, her fuse explodes and she goes haywire."

Vasquez shrugged, silently agreeing with him but his expression turned serious. "Just know this, The Void Serpent does not work with one Guild. The ones I assumed you faced are A ranked, there are new recruits. Double S."

"You are an EX, give a better excuse."

Vasquez chuckled softly and smiled, "Smart. Alright then, let's get ready then and I'll give backup messages."
