Primals

There are several reasons humans find it difficult to relate with the Primals without evolution. This difficulty was further aggravated owing to the innate nature of a Primal that makes them dangerous, besides their invulnerability.

Also, there are reasons Primals are named that way, especially since the name is coined from the type of behaviour they tend to exhibit, one that is primitive in nature.

Like any other animals on the planet, Primals are driven by an instinct for survival, that is, the need for self preservation.

Their will for survival is so strong that it clouds their mentality significantly, leaving no room for any sort of cognitive functions that tends to make them wild and berserk, in most cases.

However, unlike any other animals on the planet, Primals are known to be nearly indestructible, with the only offence against them being the Carnal Shifters and other elitist beings with a supernatural advantage.

This ability of theirs pushed the humans to accept the help of THRIVE, an organisation of supernatural creatures, whom they never for once believed in.

Humanity never knew of the existence of Carnal Shifters and rumours about them were considered myth and legends by the humans until they are forced to befriend the supernatural organisation when they offered to help, seeing that their scientific weaponry and armoury has no effect on their primitive alien foes.

For starters, Primals are reptilian in nature, or they could also be considered draconian in nature, depending on the species. This reptilian heritage they possess enables them to have the toughest scales that ever existed, the composition of this scales being inorganic, not organic.

Even though Primals are reptilian in nature, they are much more beastly and wild than an average reptile. Since there are also variety of species, one of which the chimaera, a mutated specie, of the Primal is part of, Primals are like the animals on the planet in that category.

Unlike Primals which are fully reptilian in nature, a chimaera, which is a mutated version, is a fusion of three different beasts into one owing to it's mutation.

The primal let out a loud roar at Romeo before charging it's scaly figure at him. The scales of this Primal are black, like that of an onyx, and they tend to glimmer under the glow of the moon.

Although the Primal wasn't crawling on all fours like most reptiles, as it ran on two legs, it still manage to move pretty fast towards the silver Lycan who assumed a defensive stance with alacrity.

Relying on the advantage of it massive build, the primal intended to to deal a massive blow to the Lycan as it swipes it's claws at Romeo, it's glowing red eyes intensifying their glow as it threw it's first strike.

However, Romeo who was already prepared, nimbly leaped out of the way. He grasp the two horns on the head of the primal as he flipped over it. Using his Lycan strength, Romeo swing the Primal into the air once more, sending it crashing down on the ground brutally.

Surely, the scales of a Primal aren't just tough for nothing as they could withstand anything, so it manages to survive the brutal fall. However, Romeo wasn't done yet.

Carnal shifters aren't just known for their ability to shift or their enhanced superhuman conditioning, they are also known to be able to perform acts that makes them manipulate forces of nature. In other words, every Carnal Shifter had an affinity to an element in nature.

An ability Romeo's Carnal Consciousness had told him when he was about to start the fight. His Carnal Consciousness made it clear that this affinities are particular to a Carnal Shifter, as they also tend to grant some sort of advantage to them. An advantage Romeo could make use of in the fight.

For the House Of Dragons, they possess an affinity that enables them to manipulate fire and air, and in rare instances, the weather can be manipulated only by the Dragon Prime.

For the House Of Lycans, they possess an affinity that enables them to manipulate earth and solid minerals, and in rare instances, earthquakes, shadows and other terrible occurrences associated with the earth can be manipulated only by the Lycan Prime.

While for the House Of Sirens, they possess an affinity that enables them to manipulate water and liquid substances, and in rare cases, tsunamis and other catastrophic events associated with water can be manipulated by the Siren Prime.

Other houses associated with THRIVE also have their unique affinity for nature. Indeed, humanity was not able to defeat the Primals with just an enhanced physiology but also with a supernatural affinity and that is the greatest advantage of having a Carnal Gene.

Moreover, each affinity is particular to a House but the case is different for Romeo who is able to to shift to all forms and wield all affinities, except that he is not fully strengthen to take on such great power, as he still have a long way to go and an intense training to pass through.

Romeo pinned the Primal to the ground with his knees and left paw, with a swipe of his right paw, Romeo sever the head of the Primal owing to the flames he conjured.

For now, Romeo is able to manipulate fire to a particular extent, since the Dragon Carnal form was the first form he shifted into and is familiar with.

As time goes on, and as Romeo uncovers his unlimited access to every Carnal forms, he will end up possessing the ability to control all affinities of nature.

With that strike, the Primal's life seeped away from it only to be replaced by a glowing orb hovering above it. Romeo scrutinized the orb for a few seconds and figured that it is slightly different from the chimaeras' Beast Cores he collected, as this core is glowing brighter than that of the chimaeras'.

Romeo was about to grasp the core in his hand when a dozen of furious roar echoed across the clearing, the violent swaying of the trees being testament to the wrath of a dozen Primals.

The Primals are enraged as they watched Romeo killed one of them. Ignoring their first prey, the girl who is now curled up at a corner, they focus their attention on the huge dog before them. Though they were scrupulous towards Romeo owing to the prowess he showed, they decided to take him down now, especially after he just killed their leader. This action of his riled them up and they would stop at nothing until they see Romeo's motionless body laying on the ground.

Letting anger guide their actions, the Primals surpressed their fear as they charged towards Romeo. They believed that with their numbers, they would be able to take down the huge dog.

Romeo readied himself for the incoming assault. Under such circumstances, Romeo is supposed to retreat, after all, the Primals are the same size as him but twelve times his number so he is clearly outnumbered and outmaneuvered.

However, that was not a problem that Romeo hasn't thought of a solution to. As a Carnal Shifter, his own affinity for nature gives him an advantage and he is going to use this advantage to the fullest.

Leaping into the air, Romeo came head to head with the first Primal he could get his paws on. Using the advantage of his claws, he swiped it at the Primal's neck fiercely, coating it with a layer of heat, and separated the Primal's head from it's body.

The best let out a deafening howl before slumping to the ground, a purplish like liquid gushing from it's neck as it's life slipped away only to be replaced by a glowing orb.

Though, the scales of a Primal are tough, Romeo was able to slash through it easily, as though it was paper thanks to the tough and sharp claws he possesses. Thankfully, a Carnal Shifter's claws has a supernatural touch in them which makes them durable against attacks or severe impacts.

Romeo jumped off the dead Primal immediately as it lost it's bearing and fell on the ground. Facing the other Primals whose teeth are bared and whose mouths drool as they snarl, Romeo began strategizing his next move to get the fight over with.

Another Primal pounced towards Romeo, with it's canines and claws bared as it intended to grab hold of the huge dog before ripping it's throat out with it's teeth. But owing to his inhuman reflexes, Romeo was able to react on time.

In a blink of an eye, Romeo disappeared from his spot and appeared right behind the Primal. Grabbing the jaws of the Primal with an unbelievable strength, thereby stopping the Primal in it's tracks, Romeo intended to rip them apart.

On the other hand, the Primal, upon realizing that it can't use it's teeth began to make use of it's claws as it trashed around to get the huge dog off it's back, in a bid to free itself from Romeo's grasp.

However, Romeo was quick and before the Primal could even blink, the crisp sound of bones breaking and a pained shriek filled the atmosphere as Romeo separated the jaws of the Primal with brute strength.

The Primal fell to the ground with a thud as Romeo let it go, a glowing orb hovering above it as it's life slipped away. This act of defiance and death further enraged the other Primals.

They all pounced at Romeo, their teeth and claws bared as they jumped towards him from all sides, thereby trapping him in their midst. However, Romeo didn't bat an eyelid at the incoming assault from all sides, rather, he inflicted the Primals with an assault of his own. He seems to have anticipated such an attack and he is quite prepared for it.

Since he is beginning to get the hang of this whole Lycan form, Romeo deduced that it is time he made use of it innate affinity. The incoming Primals, whose eyes flashed a cold glint as they pounced at Romeo, suddenly felt a change in the atmosphere that made a chill ran down their spines.

Suddenly, the ground beneath them begins to rumble violently as though an earthquake wants to occur. Using the earth affinity, Romeo created solid spikes from the ground and begins to hurl them at the alien monstrosities. The spikes were hurled at all sides, their tips coated with a layer of magma and the speed with which they move as fast as sound, making it easier to pierce the scales of the Primal easily as they flew across the clearing with a sonic boom.

The air in the atmosphere became heated as the spikes keeps flying at various directions, the layer of magma heating the cool atmosphere of the night and for some moments, only the pained cries and howls of the Primals could be heard as they all died a gruesome death, with the culprit, a huge dog standing in the midst of glowing orbs that continues to hover across the clearing.
