Chapter 2: A Bully Bully (2)

Walking down the hallway, Adam heard the crumbling of papers. As he turned the corner there stood two boys cramming papers into the vents of Adam's locker. "Hey Dipshits! Fuck off!" Adam shouted out with irriation. The two scrammed hurriedly down the hall fearful of Adam King's wrath.

Adam rolled his eyes and opened his locker, papers scattered onto the floor. In bold maker the notes read: "kill your self", "we'll fucking kill you, "Die in a Ditch", "I wished he killed you" , along with other various threats. He sighed rubbing his forehead. He slowly picked up the notes throwing them into the nearby trash can. The empty threats didn't bother him.

He wouldn't die by the hands of some lowly scum. If he were to die than it'd be by his own hand either that or...

He groaned bringing his hands to his hair ruffling it roughly. No! No, way in hell was he was going to think about that right now. Adam stared at the lunch sack in his locker before shutting it close. "Stupid shit lost my damn appetite." He muttered. Despite not having a lunch, Adam made his way to his usual spot of dining: his empty homeroom class.

Slowly he made his way to his desk. As expected, slurs and threats written thickly in black permanent marker scattered on his desk. Rolling his eyes, Adam refused to let it bother him. They were empty and meaningless. It was just a couple of weak asses too afraid to face him head on.

He sat in his desk pulling out his mass amount if homework. He found this to be the only time he could work on his school work. Adam was a bully but it didn't mean he was stupid. He suprisingly actually enjoyed learning. It felt relaxing in a way.Taking a glance out the window, he scoffed upon seeing William. "Damn mutt.." The boy hissed through his teeth.

William was in deep and utter regret for his decisions in sports. Despite spending a couple years working out, he didn't me enjoy it. He only did it for revenge. William only joined both wrestling and football so that he wouldn't technically be lying to his father. He wished he had came up with some other excuses other than sports. Here he was outside holding a plank.

Damn coach thought it would be a splendid idea to play a little "game": who could hold a plank the longest. Having done this pratically in his sleep William was managed to be one of the last few left in the game. It was just him and some other guy he couldn't quite put a name on.

He had a bleached buzz cut with small red strawberries decorating it. He looked strong not even breaking a sweat. He didn't move an inch just stared at the ground in complete concentration. William could feel the sweat drip from his forehead. "Theres no way in hell," he muttered.

Out of the corner of his eye did he spot a familiar boy running the track, Nathaniel. He noticed how joyfully the boy was jogging. At least he was enjoying his time. His heart skipped a beat when Nathaniel suddenly stopped and stared directly at him

"You got this Wills!" Nathaniel shouted from the track. It was like a switch went off in his head, his arms went weak and his face hit the grass with a harsh thump. Cheers erupted for the winner as William laid on the grass in utter defeat.

The boy with the buzz cut got up from the floor and extended a hand to William. "Haha sorry about that, you are the first to almost beat me" The boy chuckled. William hesitated as he grasped the tallers hand. He was then yoinked from the grass onto his feet.

"Losers join the off season!"

The coach called out from the distance, William couldn't even pay attention shocked by Jupiter's strange action. He was certainly not used to this behavior. He was always shoved to the ground at the last minute. This was different. This boy seemed like no other. He was well built and yet seemingly kind.

"Wills!" Nathaniel shouted as he jogged over, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to distract you!" He apologized as he grabbed William's face searching for any scratches or bruising. He could feel his face start to flush as he felt Nathaniel's soft hands against his face.

The buzz cut boy looked at Nathaniel in shock. "Nathaniel you know this kid?" The boy motioned as he pointed to Willaim.

Will was confused staring at both Nathaniel and the buzz cut boy in confusion. They know eachother? "Yeah he's my bestfriend," Nathaniel could sense the confusion emanating from William, "Oh sorry Will, this is Jupiter!"

Jupiter gave a kinda smile as he leaned on Nathaniel. He could feel his heart ache, he didn't know why but Jupiter's actions made him peeved. "I know him because he's the captain of the Track team! " Nathaniel exclaimed excitedly. "And football team," Jupiter added in proudly.

William sighed he couldn't hold anger towards Jupiter especially when the guy seems so kind. "Will, you want to run with me?" Nathaniel asked not even waiting for an answer before dragging him towards the track. Jupiter lingered behind, his smile slowly fading as he sat down on the ground. His body trembling. He seemed more exhausted than he led on. It was hot outside and yet the dude was in sweats.

He shook it off as Jupiter's body simply tired from the work out. He figured that the reason the boy wore sweats was because it was easier to change out of. William let out a chuckle, "Yeah sure Nathaniel"

-

William underestimated how fast Nathaniel really runs. He could hardly keep up with the boy, it was like he was running a mile a minute. William wanted to slow down just a bit, but the pure joy on Nathaniel's face made him power through it. Despite his efforts, Nathaniel saw right through his facade and slowed down as they reached their final lap.

They were making their way to the bleachers, as the others struggled to finish their laps. "How are you so damn fast?" William couldn't help but ask. Nathaniel let out a laugh at the question finding it quiet silly.

"After you left, I became Adam's next prime subject," He started slowly, his smile fading as he spoke, "It started small slight fat jokes here and there, but then started the beatings. I got so sick of it, I just ran."

Nathaniel then let out a soft chuckle, "I just kept running, and one day, Jupiter saw me and said I'd be great for the team." Guilt pooled William's head. He couldn't believed him leaving caused Nathaniel so much pain.

"I-I am so sorry, I didn't-" William started. Nathaniel raised his hand shaking his head, "It's alright Wills, I completely understand." Despite the boy's comforting words, William still couldn't dismiss the bitter taste the comment had.

He was about to speak up, but he could hear his coach call out from a distance, "Alright Football, let's go ahead and get back inside." The boy's looked at each other one wearing a face a pity, while the other gave a smile and a gentle wave
