Chapter 2 A Bully Bully
In the span of two years, Adam King had climbed his way to the top of the school's food chain. People steered clear of him out of pure fear. No one dared to stand in the King's way. Adam had tormented and abused many people he deemed losers which caused his popularity to sky rocket in the school.
Adam arrived to school early. Barely any teachers and no students. It was peacful. It gave him time to work on school work or even take a nap. He always arrived this early; his parents never had time to drop him off when school actually began. Adam never really understood why, he knew that his parents had all the time in the world...just not for him.
As he set his stuff down, Adam couldn't help but feel that he wasn't alone. He shrugged it off to it just being a teacher. Well that was until-
THWACK!
A pencil fell to the floor as Adam held his forehead. He was about to yell at the fucker who had dared to disturb his morning when he was suddenly tackled to the ground. He looked up to take a look at the person who managed to get him down; he was met with a familiar face but a not so familiar body.
"Miss me?!" The person said scornfully as they
punched Adam in the face. It was none other than William Turner. The mutt who ran away one day and never came back.
Adam got up slowly wiping the blood from his
nose as he got into a boxing stance.
"I guess I'll have to put you back in your place, you damn mutt!" He roared as he delivered a jab square in William's face.
A sickening crunch followed as blood spewed from his nose. William stumbled back but quickly kicked Adam in the knee causing the red-head to falter grabbing onto the desk for support.
Adam then used the desk as leverage to push himself into William. As his back rammed nto the corner of the desk, William let out a sharp gasp. Afraid of losing the fight, Will grabbed the closet thing to him, a text book. Using that he slammed the book into the side of Adam's head resulting the boy to fall to the ground groaning in pain.
Adam's ears were ringing as he held the side of
his head. He couldn't get back up even if he tried. He stared up in disbelief and exasperation at Will who now towered over him.
"I'm not your dog anymore!" William seethed, "It's over, Adam."
Despite his injury, Adam rose from the ground.
William quickly put himself in a fighting stance wondering if Adam would dare to attack him. To his shock, Adam just flipped him off and stumbled for the door. It was clear where he was heading: the nurses office. "Next time it won't be so easy, I'll make sure next time I kill you." He called out.
William stared in disbelief. A smile crept on his
face as he looked at his hands. He...He won. He fell to the ground as he shook with disbelief. He actually won.
-
Looking down at his schedule, William could not tell where any of his classes were. He was still quite new to the school, so hallways were confusing as hell. The fact he managed to find Adam that morning was pure luck. The fight between the dog and it's owner spread like wildfire.
It was everyone's topic for a conversation. He could feel the gaze of his peers
on him. It was different: no longer were there looks of digust, but pure admiration and fear. The gossiping had gotten a bit out of hand. William could've sworn he heard someone say he pulled a knife on Adam, or that he was shoved out a window.
"So much for making friends..." He sighed.
Despite everything, William wanted
friends more than anything.
As he ventured through the endless hallways,
he was suddenly pulled into an empty classroom. About to scream a hand clamped over his mouth. William was then face yo face with none other than Nathaniel. "Sorry Will, it's kinda hard to talk to you openly when people are watching" A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he backed away from William.
Nathaniel had grown quite a lot these past few years. He was no longer the plus sized and timid boy, He was fit and standing proud. William bit his lip unsure what to say. He didn't want to act like nothing was wrong. William had left Nathaniel without even a goodbye. He couldn't imagine how fustrated Nathaniel could've been.
William was then pulled into a tight unforgiving embrace. He froze. He had expected a punch or yelling at least, but instead he recieved a hug. "I missed you Wills..." He muttered quietly before pulling away holding tightly onto Will's shoulders. "Where were you?"
Feeling his mouth go dry, William cleared his
throat. The once spacious suddenly became cramped. He knew he owed Nathaniel nothing but the truth. "I...I did what you suggested...I decided to do online school," William said calmly as he leaned his back against a nearby desk. He looked Nathaniel straight in the eyes as if trying to reassure him it was the full truth.
"I don't get it...why come back?
William ran a hair through his hair unsure of
what to say. He knew saying "because I'm a petty bitch" is cringey as hell, so no way was he going to say that. That would be plain stupid! He just sighed, "I was tired of it...I just...I wanted revenge." Will said calmly. He knew that revenge wasn't the way, but Adam needed a beating.
He shut his eyes expecting Nathaniel to
berate him about doing the very thing Adam had done to them. Instead, Nathaniel started to laugh. "Holy shit so it really was you? Did you really pull a knife on him?" He asked with a grin.
His laugh was contagious; William couldn't help
but crack a smile as he shook his head. He let out a sigh. "I really am sorry Nathaniel..." He stated softly looking him straight in the eyes. Nathaniel froze for a second an unreadable look on his face.
He cleared his throat turning his head. "It's okay really." Nathaniel said rubbing the back of his neck. All of the sudden the bell rang deeming them late for class.
"Shit..." William muttered before looking at his schedule. He still didn't know where anything was. Nathaniel snatched the paper from his hands looking it over. He gave William a kind smile as he grabbed him by the wrist.
"I know where that class is, I'll lead the way"
"Aren't you going to be late?" Willaim asked concern lacing his voice. Nathaniel shrugged knowing well that teachers do not care if their students were late. With that Nathaniel dragged William towards his class.
