Outside The Game (3rd POV)

"This just got interesting." A male with white hair and poisonous green eyes said as he observed something through a cinema screen. "This Jade girl is really entertaining"

A snort came from across the room, the male turned to see a kitsune with blonde hair and black eyes devoid of emotion.

"It should just get to the part where she ends up with one of them~." The kitsune whined, the male laughed. The sound deep and a bit sinsiter.

"And where's the fun in that Hime?" He asked her, Hime looked at him. Her expression unreadable. Suddenly a beaming light appeared, out of it was another male with long black hair and golden eyes and sun-kissed skin, around his head was a golden halo with his white wings fluttering in a reverent manner.

"Hey Xavier." Hime greeted the newcomer who simply waved before facing the first male.

"How long are you guys going to watch a pathetic mortal have crisis? There are better things to do." Xavier said, the first male pretended not to hear him.

"Xander I'm talking to you." Xavier said in a low and even voice. Xander turned to face Xavier with a wolfish grin across his features.

"It's fun~" Xander said in a sing-tone manner. Xavier scowled.

"That's what you said before Matilda died in there." Xavier countered. The room went silent, the atmosphere thick with tension and unspoken secrets. Xander's smile faded, replaced with a frown as he stared at his older brother.

"It was an accident."

"Was it also an accident when you wiped everyone's memory in that world?"

Suddenly the door opened, the three beings turned to see a female with blonde hair and purple eyes in a peach strapless dress.

"Lucia, I need to talk to you. In private now." Xavier said, before Lucia could react he dragged her out of the room and out of prying eyes. When they finally stopped in an empty hallway, Xavier turned to face Lucia, his face blank of emotion.

"Are you happy now? You got another girl marching into her own death." Xavier said, Lucia simply rolled her eyes at him clearly unimpressed.

"She won't die." Lucia said.Xavier let out a mirthless laugh that rang throughout the hallway. His wings fluttering in beat with his laughter.

"That's what you said before Matilda died. That's what you said before Xiao Yin died. And that's what you said before Sonya died." Xavier spat out, his voice laced with venom. "Why, why do you even do this?" He asked Lucia. She turned her head away from Xavier's piercing gaze not wanting to answer.

"Answer me." Xavier commanded, Lucia sighed before walking away, she only walked a foot away when Xavier grabbed her roughly by her hand and threw her against a wall. His grip as strong as iron.

"Xavier stop. You're hurting me." Lucia screamed as she tried to break free from his grip but it proved futile.

"Oh so you know pain? And yet you sent another girl into that game! Why?!" Xavier screamed at Lucia.

"Because I want to prove myself! Because I want to prove that I'm worthy of being called a goddess!" Lucia screamed as her control snapped, Xavier stared at her slowly he released her from his grip as he looked at her disappointed.

"Are you seriously going to listen my younger brother? The fricking god of psychopathy?" Xavier asked. Lucia kept quiet, her eyes lowering down.

"My eyes are up here." Xavier said as he pointed to his eyes. Lucia glared at him, isn't it obvious she doesn't want to look at him.

"I know that." She replied as she continued looking down still unable to meet his gaze.

"Then quit looking were I know you're looking." He said, Lucia's cheeks went red as she immediately caught up on what he meant. She glared at him while silently cursing him for being so blunt about everything. Xavier sighed as he looked at Lucia. Even after several years, she's still letting what others say define her, it's becoming annoying and frustrating. Especially if it's coming from his younger brother.

"Lucia, you're okay the way you are. Stop trying to prove that." Xavier said as he cupped her cheek. Lucia had gotten used to that gesture as he always did it to comfort her. She leaned slightly into his touch as she looked at him. The only god who was willing to stick with her, her best friend.

"I just want the rest of them to see it too." She said her voice strained with emotion, no one ever acknowledged the position she held, they barely considered it important: she was the guardian of worlds and the goddess of literacy. No one ever saw it important. That's why she deemed it important to prove them wrong.

"I can't change your mind can I?" Xavier asked her, she shook her head, a determined look on her face. Xavier sighed as he felt his hand slip from her cheek to his side.

"Can you at least give her more time?" He pleaded. Lucia thought about it for a while, her face showing contemplation. Xavier nearly thought she would refuse but when he saw her nod slowly, he felt like a burden was lifted from him.

"I would have to tell her though." Lucia said as she stared at her friend, who simply nodded a smile playing on his lips.

"Thank you.", Xavier said as he started leaving the empty hallway.

"Xavier." Lucia called out, he stopped and looked at her, his face showing confusion. "Why do you do it?" Lucia asked.

"Do what exactly?" He asked.

"Why do you bother yourself with me? You have your duties and yet you still concern yourself about me. Why?" Lucia asked. Xavier's smile turned into a full grin as he heard her question.

"Because I want to see you happy." Was his reply as he exited the hallway, leaving Lucia to ponder on his statement.

"He wants to see me happy?"
