I watched as a smirk tugged at Stella’s lips as she watched me argue with my husband over her. Blake walked to her side, wrapping his arm around her as she curled her fingers around his arm with a pitiful look.

“Stop yelling, you are scaring Stella. Why can’t you be more understanding and stop being so self-centered? Not everything is about you!”

The last thing she remembered was her running out into the pouring rain and the next thing she knew, she was asking a stranger to marry her. The words that left his lips were like a tight slap to the face, rudely slapping her back to the present as the pain of the new found reality began to seep into their world without a single warning.

Their eyes went wide in an instant and they let out the breath they had been holding, obviously filled with despair and sorrow. Evelyn's heart sank to the pit of her stomach within the next second, along with her parents. They felt as though the world had stopped spinning and time had come to a standstill. They simply couldn't believe their ears, disbelief, shock and denial written all over their faces.
