"Jarvis, commencing experiment number 52."
In Tony Stark's coastal mansion, his underground laboratory was significantly hotter than outside. Just a few seconds in this room would make anyone break a sweat. Tony, clad in a black tank top, wiped his face with a towel. The light from the arc reactor embedded in his chest shone through the fabric, emitting a soft bluish glow.
The reason for the elevated temperature in the lab was the massive smelting furnace located in the corner. This furnace, a recent addition, was thanks to him bringing the remnants of the Destroyer from New Mexico back to his lab.
Since retrieving the debris, Tony had immersed himself in its study, practically losing track of time. He was one of those people who couldn't stop once they found something truly intriguing. He soon discovered that his small laboratory furnace couldn't reach the temperature needed to melt the Destroyer's metal.
This fact astonished him. The most refractory metal on Earth is tungsten, with a melting point of 3422°C. However, even his furnace, capable of reaching 5000°C, couldn't melt this mysterious material. This only fueled his interest further. He decided to convert the garage adjacent to the lab into a makeshift foundry, equipping it with a furnace capable of even higher temperatures.
The cars previously housed in the garage were moved outside. Despite donating all his antique car collection when he thought he was dying, he kept these – they held a special place in his heart.
Once the foundry was ready, Tony loaded small fragments of the Destroyer armor into the furnace and began gradually increasing the temperature to determine its melting point. Only when the furnace reached incredible temperatures did the material finally succumb to melting.
He decided to use the molten metal to create a new suit of armor. Having faced so many trials, he strived to create something more powerful than his previous suits. Nanotechnology development required time, so he focused on studying the Destroyer armor, the power of which he had already witnessed. If he could understand its principles, his own armor would become much stronger.
However, after numerous days of research, he still couldn't unravel the secrets that made the seemingly empty shell so powerful. Magic was a complete mystery to him, and his research reached a dead end. Despite this, he melted down all the remaining Destroyer fragments and used the metal to forge a new suit.
Tony theorized that the Destroyer armor was powered by magic. Although he didn't possess magic himself, he believed that the energy from the arc reactor in his chest might awaken the power within this magical metal. After creating the new armor, he began experiments, trying to activate the hidden power of these mysterious metals.
Uru metal is known for its high durability and magical conductivity. When crafted by a master blacksmith, like the dwarves of Asgard, it can be forged into powerful magical artifacts, such as Mjolnir or Stormbreaker.
However, standard Uru metal doesn't possess any special properties. The metal Tony was working with was special – it was the remnants of the Destroyer armor, forged for Odin by the dwarves. If he could unlock its hidden power, his new armor would become incredibly potent.
"Ready, sir. Commencing experiment 52."
Tony wiped the sweat from his brow and focused on the new armor, which was connected by numerous cables. These cables measured the energy levels required for activation. He had already conducted 51 experiments and felt he was getting closer to his goal with each attempt.
"Three... Two... One…"

The cables on the suit's back began to glow blue, and the arc reactor in the chest of the armor also lit up. Under Tony's intense and expectant gaze, the white surface of the armor began to be covered in mysterious glowing symbols. Having learned that Norse mythology might be real, he had studied some aspects of it, and therefore immediately recognized these mysterious symbols – runes, known in Norse mythology.
The runes spread across the armor's surface, emitting a mystical glow. When they covered the last empty patch of the armor, all the symbols suddenly vanished, and a powerful wave of energy erupted from the suit, washing over the entire room.
"Damn!"
Tony quickly ducked, hiding behind a table to shield himself from the unexpected blast. As a result of the wave, some small devices in the room were knocked off their places and fell to the floor. Fortunately, the large furnace remained in place, otherwise, the entire experiment would have ended in disaster.
When the wave subsided, he rose and looked at his new armor. This armor, created from the remains of the Destroyer, was very different from his previous designs. Externally, the armor resembled a smaller version of the Destroyer, with spikes and an aggressive design, but it still retained some elements of Iron Man's signature style, such as the blue arc reactor in the chest and the characteristic helmet.
"Did it work?" he said doubtfully, picking up a fallen mechanical arm from the floor. This arm was one of his first inventions back in his college days, and he called it "Dum-E," and although it looked rather clumsy, he was very attached to it.
"Sir, based on current readings, the experiment was successful," Jarvis reported.
"It looks very powerful. Such an unknown power..." Tony ran his hand over the silver-black metal of the armor, across which blue energy lines pulsed, and the arc reactor in the chest glowed brighter than usual.
"Sir, this suit consumes significantly more energy than previous versions. At full power, the energy may not last long," Jarvis warned.
This armor, possessing immense power, demanded a large amount of energy. Even Tony's improved arc reactor, which usually handled the load, might not withstand prolonged use of this armor at full power. However, for normal operations, the reactor was still sufficient.
"No problem, I'll install a few extra reactors," Tony said. This was the easiest way to solve the problem. And if that wasn't enough, he could further improve the reactor.
"I can't wait," he said, about to ask Jarvis to equip him with the new suit.
"Sir, the new suit has not yet undergone full testing..."
"There's no better test than field testing," Tony interrupted.
Jarvis couldn't argue with him and began equipping him with the new suit.
"Oh, damn, this feeling!" Tony immediately felt that this suit was unlike any of the previous ones. He felt the power of the armor being transmitted to his body, and it even seemed to him that he had become stronger.
The silver-black suit rose into the air, and, activating its repulsors, sped through the underground tunnel towards the exit.
