"What do you think about my offer? Good right? I'm such a generous man right?"
The man said as he looked at Declan innocently like a child who has been caught stealing.
"Generous? This? Generous?" Declan said as he looked at the man in front of him as though he has just heard the most stupid thing in his life.
"You’re sending me to fight a stronger beings at a young age in exchange of a chance to life? That is just like taking me out of frying oil and dumping me in fire!" Declan exclaimed making the other people and gods who were around turn to look at them.
"Come on now my boy Declan, I saved your soul from being crushed and I'm giving you a chance at life. And something tells me you're the only one who can do this".
After Declan entered the Devine Sanctuary Of The gods, his age and look regressed back to the age of a 12 year old, because that was the age allowed to enter the cycle of reincarnation.
"And you haven't even explained the deal into details" Declan added.
"Okay why don't we go to my chamber and talk? Let's settle things there" the man suggested.
Declan pondered for a while before telling the man to lead the way.
A few minutes later, they arrived at what seemed to be a throne room but designed in a different style.
It was luxurious with all kinds of furniture which would not be found in just any world but developed ones and big enough to house 5 of the bruj Kahrifa he saw back on earth the last time was reincarnated there.
The man motion for him to follow him and they entered a room which had a table and 5 chairs. The man gave him a chair and also sat on the opposite side facing each other.
"Now Declan, you don't know my name so let me introduce myself. My name is Orion, the god of skills and strength." Orion said as he adjusted his seat like someone about to get serious.
"Thousands of years ago, the goddess Aelin guarded the world of Edoria. She enjoyed managing the affairs of mortals and sometimes even lived among them like a mortal. Until on the night of Polios, when the gates to other worlds were open for an hour in every world."
"Unfortunately, that same night, The god of Furhaven. The god of beast kins and humans of Furhaven, Ursus set out on a conquest and his first target was the world of Edoria. Because Edoria was one the only worlds with its world tree still having all of its power and strength, he wanted to conquer it and extract the power to strengthen himself to allow him to break through worlds without passing through the multiverse for it was protected by laws that will prevent him from traveling with intentions of conquest".
"When his army arrived, The Edorians couldn’t contend with his army due to the superiority difference. With Edoria at the brink of perishing, Aelin performed a ritual and pushed the otherworlders back in exchange for her existence for 10,000 years."
"And within those 10,000 years of her absence, no god will have access to her world because she also protected her domain with a spell. But unfortunately, Ursus was able to activate a one way portal into the world that will grant him access once the protection spell that protects Edoria breaks."
"Declan, per my estimate, the spell will deactivate 16 to 17 years from now but after it deactivates, it will take 24 hours before Aelin appears but even with that, she hasn't made any preparations beforehand but Ursus on the other hand will come prepared. That is why I want you to help save my friend's world. I will help you in any possible way that I can. Although I can't help you directly, indirectly is not impossible. Take this as a favor I’m asking from you”
"You said the the gate will open after her spell deactivates right?" Declan asked.
"Yes" Orion replied.
"Which means, you can pass through without any problem so why me?" Declan asked.
Orion sighed before answering his questions.
"Because we, all her friends belong to the neutral order of the gods. The spell is such that, only those from Radiant ascendants with good intentions can pass through it at the moment and after breaking at its earliest. Even after breaking, it will take at least 2 years before any other god can cross to Edoria, even by normal means. That is why I said earlier that I can help you but not directly. I have a friend in the Radiant ascendants order who is willing to help us.
"Mmm…okay but you mentioned 'we her friends', what did you mean by 'we'?" Declan asked.
"You see the chairs here?" Orion asked as he pointed at the empty chairs.
Every single one of us owns one. Unfortunately, they are managing their personal affairs so I was tasked to take care of you. We are four and the 5th one belonged to Aelin but since she's not here no one occupies it; perhaps it can belong to you temporarily", he added.
"You also said earlier that you might help me later if I help you, is that a promise?" Declan asked.
"Gods don't take back their words my boy, it's against the laws of our order" Orion replied.
"Thank you. I have a feeling I'll need it later" Declan said with a smile.
"So will you take my offer? I know you're the one helping me greatly but I would try my best to repay the debts later." Orion said.
———————————————
Somewhere in the new order of gods, a god who seemed to be in his early forties looked at the boy in front of him calmly.
Although the image in the crystal he was holding wasn't clear, he still knew who the boy was.
"I missed you old friend" the god said softly as he continued to watch the boy who has appeared inside the sanctuary of the gods out of thin air.
Declan started burning up with anger as he remembered the god who has made him suffer over and over again, taking his happiness away from him painfully in every lifetime.
The mere idea of being able wipe the floor with the god's face fueled his desire in Orion's offer.
Declan then closed his eyes, gave a sigh of relief and said the words
"I accept your offer!"
"Good! Thank you so much Declan" Orion said.
"Don't thank me yet, you promised to pay back" Declan said calmly as he allowed himself to relax.
Orion pretended to have not heard him and continued. "Let's go get you ready because you can't stay here for long".
As if waiting for Orion to make the statement, a notification appeared infront of him with a timer.
"Ding!"
"Time left before reincarnation"
[05:59:59 sec]
6 hours, before another journey begins.
A/N: If he hadn't accepted the offer, we would have ended here (Hehe).
