A Husbands Promise

An hour before Ariana gave birth...….

Inside the royal place of the Winterglen Kingdom…

The gates to the place opened and and a guard wearing a grimgold iron fist with short brown hair flecked with gray and piercing emerald eyes entered. He walked towards the King and knelt down a few meters away from him.

"Your highness, the guards we recruited to accompany the young miss to Althaeon has all returned injured and unconscious but all of them are still alive. The young miss and her personal guard on the other hand are nowhere to be found". The guard reported still kneeling with his head bowed.

"Who brought them" The King replied with a calmly but if one looked closely, you could see a tinge of anxiousness in his eyes.

"They were brought here in a wagon pulled by an alpha moon wolf" The guard replied.

"100 soldiers, together with the captain of the 1st battalion are following up to see what happened. The mages forcefully went through the moon wolfs memories to see what happened but they saw nothing. Which means it wasn't there when everything happened" The guard added.

"Thank you. You can leave" The King replied.

The guard rose from the floor and bowed to the king before he turned to leave.

After the guard closed the palace gate behind him, a cloaked figure materialized out of thin air beside the king's throne.

"What happened Zareel?" The King asked anxiously.

""We got ambushed on the bother of Elgoroth Kingdom by 30 masked men. Because they outnumbered us, they nearly defeated us and captured My lady but I called for help from 'you know who' before the worst case scenario could happen. When they realized we had the upper hand, they retreated""

Zareel replied.

"The guards weren't supposed to se 'them' so we knocked them unconscious and erased their memory and left only that of the battle" Zareel added.

"Where's she right now?" The king asked.

"She's with them at the moment. She's safe. We will take over and escort her to Althaeon" he replied.

The King nodded before motioning for him to leave.

"Let her safety be your first priority" The king said before Zareel could disappear.

"Her life has always been my priority and will forever be"

These were the words that reached the king's ears before Zareel disappeared.

The King was Lucas Cy Winterglen.

The 3rd king of the Winterglen Kingdom and Ariana's father.

Ariana wasn't his only daughter, No. She was one of his daughters and the only daughter of his beloved late wife. He made a promise to his late wife in her last moments of life that he'll do everything in his power to take care of Ariana.

That was why despite being a half elf, she was still living on the lands of the elves and in the Winterglen Kingdom.

Although the other Kings opposed this decision because a half elf was seen as a taboo and a dirty race which elves looked down upon but Lucas, the promise he made to his wife was of utmost importance than what others thought.

That is why he has protected and allowed Ariana to live among the elves of Winterglen Kingdom for all these years.

Although the other Kings opposed this but they didn't dare to oppose Lucas. Although he wasn't the strongest being on the elven continent, he was the third most strongest among the 5 kings.

Lucas was of the Voran rank, which was the second highest ranking only falling behind the Zenithor rank. Many people believed that if Lucas became serious, he could stand toe to toe with someone of the Zenithor rank because he was cunning and unpredictable which made him dangerous.

He was at the peak of the Voran rank, just a step away from becoming a Zenithor.

Although a half elf could be entertained, a delf was not something that they could just keep a blind eye to.

Elves and demons were natural enemies, so the combination of an elf and a demon was seen as a curse which was why the saintess of the world tree advices him to let his daughter give birth outside of the elven land.

Lucas on the hand resented demons because they killed his mother. This was one of the reasons why he agreed to let his daughter give birth outside of the Elven land.

He made preparations that will allow his grandchild to live a peaceful and better life, away from the threat that lurked in the behind closed doors.

Somewhere In The Divine Sanctuary Of The Gods....

"What? How?!" Orion exclaimed with a look of surprise.

"The gateway to Edoria was faulty but the guards ignored it, which caused the loss of his memories" Uriel replied with a serious and solemn expression.

He received a notification a few minutes ago that Declan's system has been affected by an accident so he immediately rushed to the third floor of the Neutral order to inquire what happened and the guards stationed at the gate told him a fault from the gate affected Declan's reincarnation.

As his patron god, everything that happened to his system will be reported to him automatically.

Fortunately, it wasn't that serious so they were able to avoid the worst case scenario of his soul destruction or reincarnating in another world.

"Is that all?" Orion asked with a concerned look on his face.

"Apart from his memory loss, the his storage ring got rejected, which I believe contains everything that we gave to him" Uriel replied.

"Can you go and fix him?" Orion asked.

"Yes. But his his brain needs to heal naturally because of the rules bound by reincarnation. It will take him at least 10 to 12 years before his brain will fully be strong to take his memories back" Uriel replied

"Can't you speed the healing process up?" Orion asked.

"I can. But it will still take him sometime. The least is 7 to 8 years to heal" he replied.

"Okay then, do that" Orion said as he leaned back into the sofa and closed his eyes.

"Understood". Uriel replied before activating a crystal that will take him straight to his domain in the ascendant order.

He had a lot of work to do now that Declan has lost his memory.

PS: I have changed the name of the world from Salterass to Edoria. I'll go through and change it in the other chapters. Sorry for the confusion. Our journey continues
