"Uncle Zareel, don't let it escape under the sun, force it to enter the woods. There's a possibility that it has no strength left in it's body and is only being able to fight because of the sun energy" Declan shouted at the black haired man as he jumped off a tree.
The fighters looked at the boy who was running towards them like they have just seen a mad man.
"What are you doing here Declan? Where are the others" Zareel said as he unsummoned his hammer and and summon a bow and arrows.
"They are safe. I figured you'll need my help to deal with this thing so I decided to lend you a little" The boy said with a mischievous smile.
"…"
"…"
"…"
The three looked at the boy who spouted rubbish without a care in the world.
"I know I am handsome but are you just going to keep staring and allow the tiger to go and invite its comrades. Of course, If you want to be served as lunch you can keep staring" Declan said casually.
The tiger on the other hand roared at the boy who was walking leisurely to the battlefield as if asking him 'Who are you calling a thing bruh'.
"Okay hold me tightly Declan"
"Nasir, Sophia, make sure the tiger doesn't get away or else we're doomed. No matter what, redirect it to enter the woods" Zareel said as he summoned a golden wyvern.
As the other two mounted on their mounts which were mountain goats, Declan dashed into the woods, pursuing the tiger from the side, running on foot
He was still young and not a match against the volcanic tiger so he decided to execute the plan he had in mind safely.
He used a short cut that would help him get ahead of the tiger.
Zareel looked the boy who had disappeared into the woods and clicked his tongue before urging his mount to take flight.
The guardians rode on their mountains while while sending loads of spells in the tigers direction which it was able to dodge swiftly. Tiger's had very strong sixth sense so the tiger was able to predict on time when an attack was approaching.
Only Zareel who was riding a flying mount was able to land a hit but it couldn't deal fatal injuries to the tiger.
A few minutes later, they saw a blur figure blocking the tiger's path at a far distance ahead of them. When they were just a few meters away from the person, their eyes widened in shock and they all mentioned one word at the same time.
"""Declan?"""
Not far away from them, Declan stood holding a recording crystal in his hand, raised up high as if taking a selfie.
"Is he recording" Zareel asked with a shock plastered on his face.
"I think so" Sophia replied.
"Oh heavens! This boy will surely be the death of me" Zareel said as he palmed his face.
"Protect him at all cost! He's a
our priority now not the tiger"
The two other guardians nodded in unison before urging their mounts to charge forward but before they could move two meters, Zareel gave another command.
"Stop! Get down and unsummon your mounts and seal your hearing, now!". He said as he jumped down from his wyvern and unsummoned it.
The others too did same.
Because he was just a few meters away from the ground, he was able to land with out any problem.
After getting a bit closer and seeing what was in the boys hands, he recognized it right away.
Declan looked at the approaching tiger with a smug look while holding a recording crystal.
The tiger didn't sense any threat from the boy so it decided to just trumple over him and pass.
When the tiger was just a few meters away from him, it saw the boy mumble a few words before its world descended into a complete silence
"The hunt is over, you're the prey"
This was the last thing it heard before a piercing sound reverberated in it's ears and the surroundings causing it to groan in pain.
The sound was the screech of a harpy which Declan's grandpa and Zareel had slayed a few months ago.
Harpies were one of the strongest, birds in existence. It's death screech was it's last attack to send its enemy to the afterworld with it and could be heard all over an area of 15 sqkm.
Although Declan could have done this earlier, he didn't want the children to get affected by the side effect of the attack so he allowed the tiger to distance itself away from the children.
His grandfather made him record the whole fight so that he could brag to his friends about it as his first fight against a monster.
But today, this same recording has saved his life.
The tiger jumped and dashed into the shady woods wincing in pain.
It's ears were ringing from the sudden burst of sound, making it experience temporary hearing loss.
"Now is our time, don't let it get away" Zareel said as he mounted a snow wolf he has summoned. He ordered the wolf to run to Declan's direction to pick him up.
He understood what the boy had done because in the shady woods, they had a high chance of defeating the tiger.
After running for a few minutes, the tigers movement became sluggish and its breathing became slow. It was losing its strength but because of the pain surging through it's ear buds, it didn't pay attention to this.
Soon it started running side ways as if it was about to fall.
At that moment, the guardians and Declan spotted it from a distance before speeding up to catch up with it.
"Sophia, create an illusions to block it from escaping l" Zareel said as he urged the snow wolf to run faster.
Soon they closed in on the tiger who was now crawling while groaning and wincing in pain.
Sophia's illusions blocked every escape route, almost surrounding it.
Although Illusions were just like a shadow manifesting in picture form. The tiger could just pass through thenm like passing through air but it wasn't intelligent enough to know this.
Nasir Sophia bombarded it with spells for a few minutes before it fell, breathing slowly.
"It's already suffering, give it a quick and painless death" Declan said and turned to look at Zareel and the young man nodded.
Zareel did as Declan said and gave the half-dead tiger a quick death by dividing its head into two with his hammer
"Dismantle it and take the important parts. You have 15 minutes. We don't know what is going on where the kids are so we need to hurry to their side " Zareel said.
" You can have the core Declan, well done" Zareel said as he patted the boys shoulder.
They were currently in a Autumnvale, a town located in northern regions of the Langford Kingdom for the children to identity their profession.
It was a tradition in the world of Edoria that, after a child reached the age of ten, they will go to any temple to choose a job class and receive the blessings of the gods which will enable them to find their path. Only after that, will they be able to wield any strength or power associated with their job class.
After they receive a job class, the priests and the priestesses of the temple will then take them to a place where the gods will bless their profession.
After breaking through their first rank, they'll go back to the temple where they got their profession and take a quest from the gods and complete it. Only after completing this quest will they be able to rank up freely by absorbing beast cores.
Declan looked at the dead tiger infront of him and sighed. He was slowly understanding the world he reincarnated in.
A world where the strong rule.
A world where only the fittest survive.
