Receding A Job Class

After taking care of the volcanic tiger, the group of four went to look for the rest of the children before continuing their journey to the northern temple. The journey went smoothly without encountering any dangers.

After a few hours of travel, they arrived at the temple where thousands of children who had come from different towns and villages were gathered, waiting for their time to select a profession.

They were escorted by a man in a white priestly robe to the inner part of the temple where they were shown their seats.

All the children that came from the Ashwood town were 55 in number, with all of them being 10 years which was the qualified age for the gods to grant a person a profession.

There were only two temples in the Langford Kingdom. Apart from the one located in the northern part, there was also another one in the south, precisely the capital city.

The cities, towns and villages that were located in the north and the northern-central usually traveled to the northern temple to receive their profession because it was the closest to them.

"You're all welcome to the Divine Nothern Temple" An old man with all white facial hair, standing on top of a mounted platform announced.

"We're all gathered here today to witness the birth of a new generation" The man said calmly as he scanned through the children in front of him.

"Today is the day your journey begins as warriors of Edoria. Today, you'll be granted your role of making the world a better place. All of you standing here today, are protectors Edoria the moment you're granted a profession"

"The strength and power you receive here today, is to fight for justice and righteousness in the world"

"And remember, what you do in life….echoes in eternity"

A resounding applause reverberated in the the hall as the old man brought his speech to an end.

"Now warriors of the new generation! Remember, your legend has just begun and the rest of its content, lies in your hands" The man concluded with a smile as he walked off the stage.

A young man who wouldn't be more than 20 years took over the stage and briefed everyone about the procedures that are to be followed.

The profession selection method had two phases. The first one was getting the profession and the second one was receiving the gods blessings.

After all the children receives their profession, they'll then be taken inside the sacred layer of the temple, where they'll be blessed by the Gods.

As everyone started moving towards the crystal screens on the wall, Zareel told the children of Ashwood to stand by him.

Because they were the last people to arrive, they would be the last to receive their professions.

Children of different towns and cities walked towards crystal screens with green floating orbs beside.

24 children from Autumnvile town stepped forward as the first people to choose their professions. They were the first people to arrive so automatically, they would the first to receive their profession.

Each crystal screen was connected to one orb. After the children place their hands on the orb, the information of the profession they can wield will appear together with its success rate.

The children will then assess the success rate and choose the highest one.

The crystal screens were 25 in number but the children of Autumnvile were just 24 in number, leaving one slot unoccupied.

The atmosphere became tense as the priest told the children to face a crystal and put their hands on the floating orb.

The children faced one crystal each and placed their hands on a floating orb.

A few minutes later, screams of joy were heard in the room as some of the girls jumped up and down in excitement. Those who also got their preferred job class were also laughing happily. Of course, not everyone was happy because all though they all received professions, some of them didn't like the professions they received.

This continued for an hour as children from different towns and cities received their job classes.

[I'll be using job class and professions interchangeably so please get used to it]

Soon, it was the turn of the children of Ashwood Town.

Zareel who was the leader of the guardians had already divided them into 25:25:5 so the first batch moved towards the crystal and floating orb. They then placed their hands on it and waited for the information to appear.

Soon, big smiles could be seen hanging on their face as they selected their profession.

The second batch of the children also finished chosing their professions and now it was the turn of the last batch.

It consisted of three girls and two boys.

"Albert, are you feeling scared" Declan asked his friend who was standing beside him as he stared at the display crystal and floating orb in front of him.

The boy had red hair and emerald eyes, which added a touch to his handsome face.

Albert nodded his head as he stared at the crystal.

"Don't worry, you'll get a good job class" Declan assured and the boy who seemed to have lost the ability to talk and nodded his head like a lizard.

"Put your hands on the orb and relax" The priest who gave the speech earlier said.

The children obeyed and placed their hands on the floating orb.

Declan breathed deeply and placed his hands on the orb.

A few seconds later, series of text appeared on the crystal in front of him.

Declan looked at the information in front of him disbelief.

Although the name Cliff wasn't something that he has seen on his status page before, he wasn't surprised because this was the name he was currently using and it was changed a few years ago by his grand father.

In fact, he felt relieved because he thought it would never manifest on his status page.

Rather, the job class that was in front of him was what surprised him.

Beast taming in Edoria was an ability and not a job class so he was very surprised to see such an ability as a job class.

Because the display crystal was big enough for others to see, everyone in the room was currently looking at Declan's screen in surprise.

An ability which was known in the whole world of Edoria, becoming a job class was something unheard of.

Zareel who had intentionally allowed the boy to go last so that he can pay attention to him scratched his head in confusion. The job class he was seeing was something that no one has heard of before so he didn't know how the boy got it.

The priest asked Declan to remove his hands from the orb and put it back again. The boy obeyed and did what the priest asked him but the same information appeared.

The boy tried six times but the same information appeared over and over again.
