One of them, with a roar that shook the walls, lunged for Natsumi and Mizuki.

She turned and jumped to intercept—but too late.

A massive hand caught her leg mid-air and slammed her into the ground with a sickening crack.

"Gkh—!" Reina's mouth opened in a gasp, blood splattering the floor as her body hit with brutal force. She tried to move—another hand caught her side and tossed her across the hallway like a ragdoll.

"Reina-Onee-Chan!!!" Natsumi shrieked.

Reina forced herself to rise, coughing, reaching out. "No… Stay back!"

The window above burst inward with a thunderous explosion of glass and light. Wind howled into the corridor as a figure shot in like a meteor.

Kai blazing, I slammed into the berserk Mindless closest to Natsumi, my kick shattering its ribcage. It flew backward, crushing two others in its path.
