Chapter 25: Mo Fan Never Takes Advantage of Others

Before long, Mo Fan and Tang Yue arrived at the source of the disturbance. There were two groups engaged in battle. As Mo Fan watched, he truly witnessed the powerful effects of magical tools. In a fight where the participants were evenly matched in strength, the impact of these tools was staggering.

When the mid-level battle ended, Chao He revealed himself. This slippery villain had apparently set up a trap long before their arrival. As soon as the fight concluded, a massive spider web materialized, entangling several young members of the Oriental family, effectively rendering them useless.

Under the suppression of the Curse Element, the four members of the Oriental family were incapacitated almost instantly.

"Damn, it's too late!" Tang Yue stood up suddenly, her face pale with worry.

Tang Yue had planned to act swiftly and take down Chao He, a wanted criminal, while he was dealing with the four from the Oriental family. However, Chao He had set up a curse web in advance, and in an instant, he had the four trapped. Curse Element magic is notoriously tricky and hard to defend against. The four Oriental family members, having exhausted most of their trump cards in the earlier battle, were no match for Chao He's Mid-Tier curse magic. They were captured without a fight.

What made it worse was that Zhao He's spider trap had been cultivated to level three, causing the cursed spider souls to attack their mental states. Those caught in the trap were left without any means to resist.

Mo Fan watched quietly. At this point, he knew his ability to counter this type of magic was practically non-existent. Even if they wanted to rescue the four, both he and Tang Yue lacked the necessary magic to counter the Curse Element.

After taking down the four members of the Oriental family, Chao He retrieved the Rose Flame and prepared to refine it. At this moment, Tang Yue sprang into action.

Unfortunately, Tang Yue hadn't realized she had already fallen into Zhao He's trap. Despite being affected, she still managed to destroy several of Zhao He's magical tools.

That's when Mo Fan stepped forward. With his Fiery Fist and Lightning magic, he managed to take down Zhao He. After the battle, Mo Fan turned his attention to Tang Yue, who looked disheveled, her clothes slightly open, and struggling to cover herself.

"Tang Yue, are you okay?" Mo Fan asked, concerned.

"Stay away!" Tang Yue gritted her teeth, struggling to maintain control. "Go refine the Rose Flame." she added.

"That can wait. Your safety is more important." Mo Fan replied seriously.

"Get lost!" Tang Yue snapped, though she didn't realize that Mo Fan was already heading toward the Rose Flame anyway.

As Mo Fan reached out to touch the Rose Flame, he felt a pulse of energy rise within him. The green flame within him stirred and absorbed energy, but what surprised Mo Fan was the faint presence of an almost invisible black flame within it. The black flame seemed weak, almost fragile.

However, the moment Mo Fan touched the Mei Flame, the black flame began to devour the surrounding energy. This explained why his Green Lotus Flame had developed a devouring ability—it was because there was another fire hidden within it! If his guess was correct, this black flame was none other than the infamous Nihility Devouring Flame.

Although the Nihility Devouring Flame was extremely powerful, it wasn't fully developed yet, so it posed no issues for now. For Mo Fan, this discovery was a game-changer. If he could feed and nurture the Nihility Devouring Flame, his power could skyrocket.

As the Rose Flame merged with his spiritual energy, Mo Fan felt his Green flame's power increase dramatically, nearly tripling in strength. Even though it didn't quite reach full threefold power, it was at least close to a 2.9x boost.

After finishing the refinement, Mo Fan turned back to Tang Yue, who had recovered somewhat. She opened her eyes, still slightly dazed. Seeing Mo Fan's obvious excitement, she scoffed, realizing that the treasure had ended up in his hands.

This Rose Flame wasn't something Mo Fan should have been able to obtain, but given the circumstances, there was no helping it. Tang Yue had been trapped, and with no one else around, she had no choice but to let him have it.

However, bringing Mo Fan along hadn't been a complete mistake. If Chao He had succeeded, it would've been a disaster, and undoing the damage would've been a heavy price, possibly even leading to her death.

"All the spoils of war are confiscated. Don't even think about it," Tang Yue coldly said, seeing the greedy look in Mo Fan's eyes.

"You weren't this cold earlier." Mo Fan teased, though he knew better than to push his luck. It was clear from her mood that now wasn't the time to argue.

Mo Fan had planned to search Chao He's body for any treasures, but after Tang Yue's warning, he abandoned the idea.

After tidying things up, the two of them left the scene. Once they returned to the town, Mo Fan, seeing that Tang Yue was still recovering, called for a taxi to take her back to the city.

Mo Fan could have used his summoned beasts, but as a law-abiding citizen without a summoning license, it wasn't appropriate to let his beasts run loose in the city. So, he opted for the taxi instead.

Sitting in the back of the taxi, Tang Yue stared silently out the window, clearly still feeling the aftereffects of the battle. Seeing her like this, Mo Fan kindly asked, "Tang Yue, are you—"

Before he could finish, Tang Yue suddenly leaned in and kissed him. The soft, warm sensation of her lips took Mo Fan completely by surprise. Her tongue slipped into his mouth, igniting a rush of desire that caught him off guard.

Just as Mo Fan's hand reached for her, Tang Yue seemed to come to her senses and pushed him away. The taxi driver, initially about to turn around and say something, quickly decided against it when he saw the crackling lightning in Mo Fan's hand.

After scaring the driver into focusing on the road, Mo Fan leaned back. He wasn't the type to take advantage of others in a vulnerable state, but when someone throws themselves at him, a little reward is only fair, right?
