Sebastian Gray woke up to soft daylight slipping through the curtains. His eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the unfamiliar ceiling. A strange heaviness pressed on his chest, and his mind felt foggy.
He shifted a little, feeling a dull ache spread through his body. His brows knitted as he sat up, letting the blanket slide down. His face stayed calm, but his eyes quietly studied the room.
Plain, simple, and definitely not his.
It took him a second to notice something else. He was still in his suit, slightly wrinkled from sleep.
Where… am I?
Gray ran a hand over his forehead, feeling a faint ache beneath his fingers. His memories were scattered.
He exhaled softly and got to his feet. The cool floor under his toes pulled him back to the moment, but the confusion in his head only grew.
His eyes moved over the room, the plain furniture, the faint scent of lavender in the air.
This wasn't his place.
