Chapter 7: Refined Scoundrels

Jiang Jiu was about to say, "Liang Xu and the others are still waiting."

But then she thought to herself, why should she care if Liang Xu was waiting?

In that split second, the man had already pounced on her.

Little Wolf Dog also had a problem— he loved to bite people.

Jiang Jiu protested, "Don't bite, my colleagues saw everything today."

Jiang Siyan breathed heavily, "So you weren't afraid of Liang Xu seeing."

Jiang Jiu didn't speak, and at that moment, the phone rang; it was Liang Xu.

She pretended not to hear it, while Jiang Siyan's actions grew fiercer, and she felt like her waist was about to break.

Seeing no response from Jiang Jiu, Liang Xu called Jiang Siyan's cell phone, who unexpectedly answered, "Hello."

Jiang Jiu instinctively bit her lip, but Jiang Siyan maliciously exerted force, almost letting the person on the phone hear.

"Ah Yan, it's been half an hour. Why haven't you arrived yet, have you picked up our Jiujiu? I called her but she didn't answer."

Jiang Siyan curled his lip, "It's rush hour, we'll be fine soon. She might have it on silent, do you want me to answer for her?"

Jiang Jiu quickly shook her head while covering her mouth. Answering now would reveal everything.

Liang Xu naturally assumed it was the peak after work, "No worries, take your time, the food has already been ordered."

After hanging up, Jiang Jiu fiercely bit the man's wrist, "A true gentleman gone rogue!"

"Thanks for the compliment."

...

By the time they reached the private dining restaurant, it was already an hour later.

Upon seeing the two of them arrive, Feng Hao immediately said, "Ah Yan, you're late; you have to drink three penalty shots!"

Jiang Siyan pushed his glasses up, sat down, and lazily leaned back in the chair, "Traffic jam."

Jiang Jiu sat next to Liang Xu and silently sipped water.

Feng Hao, with sharp eyes, noticed the bite mark on Jiang Siyan's wrist and teased, laughing, "It doesn't look like traffic. It looks like you were enjoying your time with a lady. She sounds quite formidable."

Liang Xu's eyes widened, "Damn, Ah Yan, I didn't see it coming, you play hard!"

Jiang Siyan curled the corner of his lips slightly, "I was in a rush to get here and ended up irritating her."

Feng Hao had an epiphany, "No wonder you didn't want me to introduce you to a bridesmaid; there's already someone special, huh? When will you bring her out to meet us?"

"Just for fun."

Feng Hao laughed out loud, "It has to be our Ah Yan. With his looks, women must be flocking to him!"

Liang Xu scolded teasingly, "Feng Hao, that's enough. My Jiujiu is still here. Ah Yan, honestly, if I had known, I would have picked Jiujiu up myself and interrupted your fun. See, my Jiujiu is embarrassed now."

Jiang Jiu changed the subject, "How about we get them to serve the dishes? I'm hungry."

Feng Hao immediately signaled the waiter to serve the food, the meal was to thank Jiang Siyan for helping out at their wedding. Soon after, Feng Hao's wife Ningning also arrived.

She worked at a nearby company and was also slightly delayed.

The group sat together, the men drinking and chatting, while Jiang Jiu and Ningning chatted over juice.

Ningning, perhaps still radiant from her recent wedding, said, "When are you and Liang Xu getting married? I heard you've been together for a long time."

Jiang Jiu speared a piece of apple, "No rush, we both want to focus on our careers right now."

Ningning whispered, "Is it because Liang Xu hasn't proposed yet? I was going to break up with Feng Hao since he wasn't proposing."

Jiang Jiu smiled, "Really, it's not that, Sister Ning, I'm only twenty-three, I'm not thinking about marriage yet."

Ningning, now twenty-eight, nodded in understanding, "Right, when I was twenty-three, all I wanted to do was have fun. Who needs men!"

Jiang Jiu glanced over with a smile; Liang Xu was drinking with Feng Hao, while Jiang Siyan's brooding gaze was fixed on her.
