A large team of people and horses meandered westward, naturally attracting attention.
Wei Yuan had scattered most of his subordinates among the captive troops to help the ordinary soldiers accelerate their march. Around the edges, however, were the core fifty knights, roving dispersedly.
On the journey back west, they encountered quite a few scouts, including horse bandits and those from the Western Jin official army. The horse bandits, upon seeing the masked knights, would generally disappear immediately, whereas the government scouts were much more arrogant, some trailing them at a leisurely pace a few miles away.
Such arrogant scouts generally came from the Northern Border Army, in groups of two or three, all Dao Foundation Cultivators.
Although there currently was no conflict between Wei Yuan and the Northern Border Army, it didn't mean he could tolerate them riding roughshod over him.
