Ethan on getting home saw the children outside, playing but the Eldest daughter was not it was only two of the girls, on seeing Ethan walking towards the house they ran to him and asked curiously."Hey Ethan where have you been? We have been looking for you in your room and thought maybe you could play with us, our sister doesn't have time to play with us she reads too much and stays up in her room".
"Okay, girls, I'll ask your sister why she doesn't want to play with you two," Ethan said as they walked toward the house.
"Oh no, Ethan, she won't even say a word to you. Trust me," Anna said, holding Ethan's hand.
"If you say so then let's play, what games are you good at?" he asked with a smile.
Emily, in her gentle voice, suggested, "How about we play hide and seek inside? I'm tired of being outside."
"Yes great idea, Ethan added as they all walked inside the house.
As they played, the house was filled with the bright sound of laughter, like little bells ringing through the air. Emily's giggles echoed from behind a couch, her voice light and sweet, while Anna's laughter came from behind a door, high-pitched and full of excitement. Their laughter was contagious, each burst of joy sparking more giggles, making it nearly impossible for Ethan to contain his smile.
Ethan paused for a moment, listening to their carefree sounds. There was something magical about the way they laughed so pure, so full of life. It reminded him of how simple happiness could be. The echoes of their voices seemed to breathe new life into the house, turning it from a quiet place into one brimming with warmth and energy.
As he chased after them, the girls' laughter only grew louder, their joy as endless as their energy. They teased him, shouting "You can't catch us!" between fits of giggles, their delight lighting up the entire house.
They played the game of hide and seek for some time until Ethan was exhausted and went to his room to rest and the girls followed him as well, "It was clear that Ethan and the girls were bonding well, but Elena remained distant, wrapped up in her world of school, the dining room, and her room."
Ethan sat on the bed going through some books, he was thinking about Elena and how beautiful she was but he didn't dare to talk to her, while the girls sat on the floor, playing with some puzzles laughing, when there was a sudden knock on the door, as Anna stood up quickly to open the door and it was Elena as she walked in the room and sat in the bed close to Ethan, on looking at her with a gently smile on his face Ethan thought" I bet she must have summoned courage to do that".
Elena said with her soft voice "Ethan thanks for keeping my sisters company and playing with them, I think I am not worth their elder sister after all" " As she stood up about to leave Ethan held her hand like a child begging his mother not to abandon him, the two girls looked and smiled at the drama before them.
"Um don't go yet, do you mind doing some research with me?" Ethan asked grinning.
"Okay, what is it about?" Elena asked sitting down on the bed.
"It's about the full moon, I would like to know when it comes up again".
"That's fine I will help you, but first I will make lunch then we can do the research together",
Ethan said "Okay" with a smile as he continued reading his books. While Elena walked out of the room heading for the kitchen.
