Emotions.

After Elena was busy making lunch in the kitchen, the girls were playing outside while Ethan watched her move gracefully between the stove and the counter, lost of thought in his mind, He couldn't take his eyes off her.

Elena was beautiful, and the ease with which she cooked only made her more captivating.

"Um, Ethan is everything okay? Elena asked glancing over her shoulder while she cooked.

Ethan snapped out of his reverie, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly."Yes, everything is okay, I just admire... um you know what I think you are a good cook, when you are done cooking let me know I will be in my room. He replied rubbing his head and walking upstairs.

Elena smiled to herself fully aware of what Ethan wanted to say but she continued cooking humming softly, when the sound of tires crunching gravel outside caught her attention. Moments later, the door opened, and Mr. John walked in, greeted by his two daughters running to embrace him.

"Hey, Dad!" the girls chimed in unison, their laughter filling the room as they led him inside.

Mr. John chuckled, ruffling their hair affectionately before sinking into the couch. "Elena, I could smell your cooking from outside. You've outdone yourself this time, I'm starving already!" he teased, his eyes twinkling as he settled in, the girls piling onto the couch beside him.

"Daddy," Anna began do you think Ethan could go to go to school with us? It would be so fun!"

Mr John looked thoughtful for a moment. "Well, sweetheart, I'm not sure if Ethan's staying with us for long. But who knows? You could ask him." He smiled, just as Elena spoke up from the kitchen.

"I'll talk to him later," she called, setting the table. The aroma of freshly made pasta filled the room, making everyone's stomachs rumble.

As the afternoon set, Ethan remained in his room, lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. His mind wandered back to Elena, hoping for a knock at his door, just for the chance to see her again.

A gentle knock finally broke the silence. "Ethan? Can I come in?" Elena's voice came from the other side of the door.

Ethan sat up quickly, his heart racing as he opened the door. Elena stood there, holding a bowl of pasta, her eyes warm and inviting.

"Here's your lunch," she said, handing him the bowl. "Oh, and my dad's here. Do you mind if I sit for a bit?"

Ethan blinked, surprised but pleased. "Uh, sure! Of course, you can sit," he replied, stepping aside to let her in.

As she sat down, he started eating, his heart lighter in her presence, grateful for this unexpected moment together.
