Ch. 48 - An Unexpected Visitor, Again

How many times was this now? Three times? Four times? I honestly couldn't say how many times Millie had escaped from somewhere then magically reappeared.

"Take your time. No one's going to take them from you," said Aron to Millie as she stuffed her face with biscuits. The scene was eerily similar to the first time Millie had showed up in my life and if I wasn't so worried about what this now meant, I'd probably be feeling rather nostalgic about it.

And just like the first time, the little girl hadn't spoken a word.

"She looks fine," I told Claire over the phone. "She's just not speaking."

"I'll let them know and get back to you on what to do," she replied.

"Alright."

"Lachlan, if it turns out she needs to stay with you for a bit, would that be alright?"
