Chapter 97: Still Not Enough Evidence

Dimitri POV

He'd caught his brother red-handed ... but he couldn't bust him.

Not after Luc explained what truly happened. Luc picked an unhealthy individual to feed on. And Dimitri sensed the panic rolling off his brother in waves. He truly did not plan the man's demise. He'd have to be idiotic. A train was a closed-in space, more or less.

Besides ... Irina and Luc had just handed him the opening they'd been seeking to trap

In the cafe car, Ariana as Mireille and Dimitri as Sebastian, along with Maarah, Louis, and Aunt Sally, quietly talked about the sordid affair. Elina stayed behind with Irina and Luc.

"Surely that proves he was behind the other murders," Ariana hissed.

Louis' mouth drooped in a frown. "I hate to defend Luc, but that man was a heart attack waiting to happen. He probably had one already, hence the blood thinners."

"But that's convenient," Ariana argued. "Who would suspect someone like that of being a vampire victim?"
