Ariana POV
Ariana put her arms around Irina immediately.
When they were out of here, away from Dimitri's terrible parents and this cell, she and Irina would have a serious talk. But for now, Irina was family, and family members stood by each other. Besides, Irina had changed.
"She admits it," Katia gloated, her face still beautiful and terrifying, but a lot less intimidating than she intended. Ariana understood her game and wasn't playing.
"In the old days, she wouldn't have," Dimitri replied.
Katia had nothing to say to that. She merely stood there with her mouth open.
Aleksandr didn't know when to quit. "She could be deceiving you. Admitting it in order to gain your trust."
Dimitri snorted. "And to think I once thought you were the smartest man I knew. Is that really the best you can come up with, Father?"
"I AM STILL YOUR FATHER, DIMITRI ALEKSANDR LYUNOV."
