It's another dark and cold night, so quiet, and the moon ray is the only source of light illuminating from the horizon. It is so peaceful for a perfect night, but all is suddenly is disturbed when a sound of hurrying footsteps runs by, so quick but distracting. Shortly after, numerous steps approach, trashing away the peace of the forest like wide fire. From the intruders' appearance, they dress in a dark green lather suit with a tick helmet for the head protection.
" He won't be too far. Find him!". The commander lashes out, and the soldiers spread out. One of the soldier feels a movement behind the leaves and voice out instantly.
" There he is!". He alerts the other, making them to direct their attentions to where he is pointing at. Unfortunately, they did not see anything, it's just darkness.
"Don't you dare make this moment a joke, you know how critical the situation is. We must find the traitor and bring him back with us to the prison he belongs, or else the king will have our heads, a replacement for his. Now, spread out, he must not get away". The commander orders, and they all disperse immediately, looking for the traitor.
Two of the soldiers are at one side of the forest, searching. Then, out of the shadow, one of them is grab without the other suspecting, nor aware. By the time he notices he's being alone, he is knock unconscious by a blurry figure.
"I swear I saw him, but he seemed to be moving so fast. Commander Cane won't just believe me, that's the issue". The soldier murmurs while parading behind his fellow.
"Just keep your eyes opened, the person we are on his tail is a one in a million bastard, and he is a beast, a one-man army". The second soldier warns.
"Are you exaggerating or what?". The former asks.
"Well, that's what I heard. I won't be shocked if I see him tearing us from limb to limb". The latter replies before he signers to the former to remain silent.
Agony scream is heard from afar. Both soldiers take a long gaze at each other before doubling up their pace, following where the scream was coming from. The moment they reach the area, what they see is gruesome. The motionless bodies of fellow soldiers are on the cold grass, blood dripping to the floor, getting suck by the ground. The last victim is held captive by a man who is in a rag. His eyes are bloodlust, he is ready to swam anyone that makes a slight movement. He's already discolored by his preys blood.
"Stand down, traitor. You have been surrounded already, just give up because any folly play can cost you your life". The commander bellows. Despite the bravery expression on his face, he's intimidates by the man before him.
The captive is struggling to break free from the man's grip, but he's weak compared to the man.
"Please, commander, do something. I don't want to die". The young soldier begs for his life. He's paralyze by fear, tears dripping as he shrives.
"Just shut your mouth! If you die, you die with honor. Sacrifice must be made for the grater good". The commander is indifferent, his acts leave others nonplussed.
"I think I've had enough of your blabbering, let's finish this". The man says, and with a snap of his finger, a yellow portal opens behind him, and he hops through with his captive, disappearing into the unknown.
The door to the king palace open and the soldiers troop in orderly. Everybody attention is drawn by their arrival. They bow to the king the moment they are at his front.
"Rise, Cane. I've been expecting your report on your little quest. I hope you've brought me the greatest news. And you can see, I am in my best mood, which is a good thing if you ask, right my people?". The king asks his subjects, all agreeing with him with a delightful smile on their faces.
" My Lord, I umm… the traitor was, he…:. The commander stammers, he finds it heard to choose his words wisely.
"Oh, mighty Cane, when thou become a stammerer?. Despite the king humorous, no dare to laugh.
"The traitor escaped, my Lord". He finally spilled the beans. This disclosure makes the king to hit the roof. King Ra'shal is known to be crue and mayhem, and the worst part is that the news may have a negative impact on the people.
"So you're a nonstarter now, commander Cane? Despite your impecuniosity, you still have the gut to share with me that decompose report". King Ra'shal scowls.
"We had him, my Lord, tight under our grip, not until we're backstabbed by one of ours". Cane deludes.
The revelation makes the king go more mad.
"Who dares do such? Bring him here at once!".
The other soldiers troop in and grab one of theirs, dragging him out till they are before the king.
"Let go of me". The soldier resists.
"So it's you, the young hero, huh?". The king says and with a wide grin spreading, very creepy and sinister.
"Forgive me, my Lord, but I have no idea what I've done wrong or what all of this is about". The frame soldier is dejected.
"Don't try to deny it, you're the reason for his escape". Commander Cane quibbles.
"But I did not. I showed you where he was before he disappeared…" The soldier tries to prove his innocent before he is cut short instantly by the king.
"Get him out of my sight. Throw him in the dungeon, you should count yourself lucky I wasn't in the mood to kill, despite all the troubles you have caused". King Ra'shal affirms and the accused is drag away.
"And you…", King Ra'shal points at commander Cane, "clean up your mess. Find him, dead or alive". The king commands and dismisses him. Commander Cane leaves with a sinister grin.
