The Spartans

Another energy beam hits Cane again, knocking him to his knees. Before Commander Cane stands the Night Howler, ready to charge at any slight movement.

"Stay out of my way, or I will crush you like the bug you are." Commander Cane says, chattering his teeth.

"You are facing the Night Howler, comrade. And I'm no bug, dummy." Night Howler says, then both of them charge at one another.

Night Howler crashes into the wall, causing his suit to malfunction, but Commander Cane dodges the attack and lands a powerful punch. Night Howler quickly recovers and charges at Commander Cane with full force, firing repulsive blasts that Cane withstands effortlessly. As Night Howler approaches, Commander Cane seizes him by the face and slams him into a motel pillar, shattering it to pieces.

"You think you can match my strength with your ridiculous disguise?" Commander Cane bellows. "You're nothing but a pathetic, inferior human. And I will kill you for interfering."

Commander Cane flings Night Howler across the building, then leaps high into the air and lands on top of him, delivering blow after blow until Night Howler's battle suit is damaged in the process. Half of his face mask is broken, revealing a blood-covered face.

"You try to play hero, hiding behind mere metal I can crush with a finger," Cane sneers. "Too bad you won't live long enough to see another day, boy."

Just as Commander Cane is about to deliver the final blow, someone swiftly carries Night Howler to safety.

Malik gently places Night Howler against the wall and kneels beside him. "You stay right here until help arrives. I'll try to slow him down," Malik says before standing up to face Commander Cane who is approaching.

Malik charges at Commander Cane, but Cane catches him off guard with his madness-fueled strength.

"I never thought you were also gifted. Wow, this will make the challenge even better. So, come to daddy, young soldier," Cane mutters.

Malik frowns for being underestimated by the commander and charge at the man without thinking. Malik manages to land few punches but Cane gets the better of him when he makes Malik fall after putting a leg where the boy is running. Commander Cane wastes no time to break the boy's right leg, rendering him a liability. Malik yells in agony and pain, screaming so loud from the pain of a broken leg.

"Despite being fast, you don't think fast like your legs does. You charged with blind rage on a battlefield *scoffs* I wonder how you passed your training as a soldier". Commander says to Malik who is struggling to move.

Commander Cane pulls Malik from the floor and stares at him. "I shall enjoy watching you suffer for protecting that traitor. I wonder why he even kept you alive. I guess this is all set up. Pretending to get kidnapped so that you can come here to live an interior life." He begins to choke Malik again. "Too bad you won't enjoy it."
