THE VEIL
King Ra'shal's palace door is struck by a beam of yellow energy, sending the door crashing to the floor. Everyone's attention is captured by the audacious greeting from the unknown guests. King Ra'shal waits patiently to see who might have the audacity to do such when Galban walks in dramatically, leaving people agog.
It's astonishing to everyone that the man is still alive and well. And for him to show his face again here, that means he has something sinister up his sleeve. The guests' attention is drawn to the entrance of Night Howler and Malik, who stand behind Galban. King Ra'shal isn't pleased with all the drama unfolding in his presence; he must act swiftly.
"Well, well, well. Look what we have here." The king says with his malevolent grin. King Ra'shal sighs before proceeding. "Who might have guessed the dead would rise again on the day of his funeral?" Ra'shal says, remaining calm as always. "I thought Commander... no, Cane. I thought Cane had taken care of you, but it seems he let you go again, just like he did the last time. How disappointing."
"I guess you're shocked to see me again, tyrant?" "Shocked? No, surprised? Yes! Since Cane has decided to join forces with you, why isn't he here?" King Ra'shal inquires.
"He is fine, and he's here with us, at least a part of him is here with us." Galban simply says, leaving King Ra'shal perplexed, including Malik and Night Howler. They don't know what Galban is talking about.
"What do you mean a part of him?" Ra'shal whispers.
"I mean this part..." Galban opens his bag and brings out Cane's severed head, throwing it to the king's feet, splashing some blood on Ra'shal's attire. Everybody gasps at what they just witnessed. This sends shivers down everyone's spine, including Galban's companions.
"What the?" Malik yells in shock, while Night Howler growls in disapproval of Galban's act. There are murmurs among the guests.
"I knew that guy would definitely lose his head, and here we are..." Liak whispers.
"I did exactly what he did to Lyla. This is just a taste of what you're about to witness" Galban swears.
"If you're heading down a psychopathic path, then I will be the one stopping you." Howler warns.
"I don't think this is such a good idea either, Galban. This will make you the same as Cane, as Ra'shal." Malik utters, hoping Galban will change his mind.
"Then so be it" King Ra'shal accepts, standing up from his throne. Galban nods and steps forward as well. Night Howler feels disappointed, while Malik notices the guards preparing for an attack.
"So, what do we do now?" Malik asks no one in particular.
"Do what you know how to do best. This is my fight; go be the hero for the Veilians." Galban says before both he and Ra'shal charge at each other with a battle cry.
