CHAPTER SEVEN***MORTAL REALM***REBIRTH

It was only after Ayden’s response that I realize that I had been reborn in the mortal realm. I tried hard to visualize the circumstances that led to my rebirth into a different world but all I could think of was the cruel death I suffered in hands of Zenyou Zhen Douyan.

I figured something ominous must have occurred for me to have been transformed into the body of a human whose flesh and bones were extremely fragile and weaker than the species I had come across during my war campaigns in the realm of Ataxia. I tried to pinpoint the scenarios I had witnessed in the realm of Dominos but nothing came up. My mind often went blank as I tried to recall the incidents which kept flashing through my head.

As a result, I felt a sharp pain in my head which almost rendered me helpless and I did not realize it when I sat back on the flat surface I had been sleeping on earlier. Reeling with pain, I grabbed hold of my head in a fit to try to lessen the pain and felt my fingers sink into a grassy fur of thin black hair that ended on my bare chest.

The death I had witnessed kept replaying through my mind as memories of my past as an Elvanian kept flashing repeatedly in my head as though they were

All I could think of was the time I was slain to death by Douyan who clearly had betrayed me. But that was the least of my problem.

The voices of the humans talking outside were getting a lot louder and violent than usual and my head kept spinning to their fervent arguments.

All of sudden, the atmosphere around me was feeling a lot tighter than usual. I was almost out of breath when the door was smashed open unexpectedly. It was then that I had discovered that Ayden had failed to stop the impatient men from tearing down the door. I became startled and quickly withdrew to a corner to avoid being stumped upon by the wooden door that fell down flat on the ground

“Redmond, Get the demon out this instant!” a bald headed man whose brawn muscles was twice size of a big rock. His crumpled faces were too dark and horrid looking for me to see his face clearly in the dark.

“Right away, Batister.” Redmond said and ushered in a third fellow who forced his way through past Ayden and came inside the room. they dragged me out of the room before I could even think of a chance to escape but I was as surprising composed as ever as I was back then when I was still alive as an Elvanian. Redmond and his companion pulled me to the centre of the main hall which was fairly small but large enough to contain the crowd who were horrified to see me exposed in their presence. Under the ugly looking bald headed man, the two men took me to the midst of the little crowd of people whose savage outfits were too awkward to hide their nakedness. Prior to the argument, The crowd all summed up to eight individuals including Ayden and I knew at once that each had a different personality judging by the savage awkward way they were dressed except a fourth man whose simple outfit was too modest to be compared to a noble but with the arrival of Batister and his two minions, they were all ten mercenaries in the room with the absent of Tomaru, their leader not present to stop Batister from trying to take matters into his own hands.

Like the others who were afraid, Ayden had gone unbelievable silent after Batister’s goons broke into the dark room they held me captive knowing he was not as powerful as Batister and had withdrew to a corner beside Ashtaroth to see what Batister was going to do to me.

They all gasped in terror when they saw me and looked at me more awkwardly than ever. It was then that I realized that my rebirth was as a result of something more dangerous than appearing to be a human. They all seemed strange to me but I caught sight of Ashtaroth who stood idly in surprise at the way I looked. Redmond and his companion hauled me to the ground and brought me to my knees. Then they left and returned to join the other onlookers while Batister who apparently had not partook in the argument and had apparently been notified about my presence upon his arrival from a bandit hunt on thieves roaming around the sandy desert.

“He’s really a demon! Look at his hair!” One of the bystanders inside the crowd screamed in terror after and hid behind a heavily plump fellow whose gender was hard to distinguish at first sight.

“And his eyes!” Another man whose voice resembled that of a lady, screamed in fear from behind Ayden.

“He’s clearly not human and we’ve have all been right that he is indeed has been possessed by a demon.” Todu said folding his hands and shutting his eyes in defiance to Batister’s authority.

“Then he should be sentenced to death before Tomaru’s start thinking that he has found another demon friend.” Batister said aloud and brought out a gigantic double-edged sword with a curved blade from the scabbard which he tied to a large black belt which he wore around his muscled waist.

“I urge you not to be hasty. Tomaru would not like it if one of us starts bossy everyone around behind his back.” Ayden said after coughing thrice and after he had found the confidence to intervene.

“I hate to admit but Ayden is right. I’d really be stupid to get into a fight with Tomaru over a worthless demon-possessed human who can’t even speak.” Todu retorted looking at me in the face. I blankly stared at him in silence, unfazed by his words which I barely could understand. Batister became surprisingly mad at Todu for his statements and confronted him.
