Peaches

Stepping out of the elevator, she went straight to the lady's room where her closet was so she could change into her scrub and get ready for the day's activity.

As she got in she met some of her colleagues who were already dressed and were on their way out of the lady's room.

"Hey Vivian" one of the girls on glasses greeted her with a smile.

"How're you doing Grace?" She asked her colleague who gave her a warm smile and assured her that her night was splendid.

"See you later" Grace waved at her and shot the door behind her as she ran in other to meet the other girls who were now on the elevator.

"Looks like I'm gonna be late today" Vivian said to herself as she walked into the quiet room but to her surprise she saw her best friend sitted on the bench there busy with her phone.

"Stacy?" She called her name to get her attention.

"Hey peaches, how're you doing?" She asked with a smile as she opened her arms for a hug.

"Come on, we agreed that you would stop calling me that. We're no longer kids" Vivian complained with a smile and hugged her friend.

"Did we? How come I don't recall?" Stacy said innocently.

"Don't tell me you've forgotten already?" She asked her friend.

"I have, refresh my memory a bit" Stacy said as she raised her phone to take a selfie of her.

"It was just the day before yesterday when we went to the club"

"Oh, I must have been drunk when I agreed to that" Stacy said with a playful grin.

"Come on, Stacy" Vivian frowned like a child.

"You know I'll never stop that, do you" Stacy stood on her feet as she started to unbutton her shirt

"And why is that?" Vivian asked with her mouth filled with muffins which she had bought earlier on her way to the hospital.

"Because you are such a cute girl and also you are just sweet as peach fruit" Stacy said and stole a bite of Vivian's breakfast which she had on her hand.

"I can't stop you, can I?" Vivian asked helplessly. She was so tired of dragging this same topic with her friend ever since she entered her new school school. Stacy was really adamant.

"Nope" she answered as she packed her long aurburn hair in a ponytail.

"I should leave now, I need to head to the laboratory before the professor comes in" she said as she turned to her friend who was still busy with her breakfast.

"Don't look at me like that, I'll join the others soon" she said guilty when she saw the way her best friend glared at her.

"Be quick, see you at lunch " she said and left the room in a hurry leaving Vivian alone.

"Looks like I'll be late again" she said to herself as she sighed

Vivian and Stacy has been friends since she was like five years old. She and her parents just moved into the neighborhood and Stacy happened to be their neighbor who always smiled at her whenever she was with her mum at the garden watering their plants. Whenever Vivian saw this, she would look away and tell her mum that the little girl next door wasn't sane.

"Really, are you sure? Or maybe she wants to be friends with you" her mom would say with a smile.

"No mum, I won't be friends with that weirdo" she would say with a frown which left her mum chuckle at her little girl's comment.

"We would have to see about that peaches" her mum said. She was actually the first person to call her that together with her father.

They were a family of three and her parents loved her so dearly.

Little Vivian who didn't like her weird neighbor didn't know what she would have to face the next day until she went to school.

The little blonde hair girl was in her school and to make it all, they were in the same class.

"Hi peaches" Stacy shouted from her seat as soon as she saw little Vivian enter their class on her first day at her new school.
