The Three 'Has' Youth

Chen Liuhe smiled and stayed silent. At this moment, Qin Ruohan glared at him and asked, "Chen Liuhe, is this your solution? Just giving up twenty percent of the shares without consulting me? This club is mine—what right do you have to make decisions on your own?"

Chen Liuhe looked at her coldly and sneered, "What do you think should be done? Do you think I'm a god? Just because you stomp your feet, the Black Dragon Society will back off? You think you can just dream up a solution?"

He paused and then mocked, "If you think this solution isn't good enough, you can negotiate with Zhou Yunkang yourself. I'm out of this."

Qin Ruohan's face turned pale. Biting her lip, she stammered, "I-I was just saying that. You should at least consult me." Chen Liuhe was now her only hope and support. She couldn't afford to lose him. If Chen Liuhe hadn't arrived tonight, she didn't know what her fate would have been.

"Do you think the Black Dragon Society will agree to this deal?" Qin Ruohan asked, her worry resurfacing.

Chen Liuhe casually replied, "That depends on how afraid Zhou Yunkang is of dying. But I believe he's a smart man and will handle this because he's more afraid of losing everything he has now."

"Zhou Yunkang is a scoundrel. He deserves to die," Qin Ruohan said angrily when Zhou Yunkang's name came up.

Chen Liuhe scoffed and said, "Forget about killing him. It's easy to kill Zhou Yunkang, but what then? I think what you need right now is to stabilize the situation and get through this crisis. Acting on impulse will only make things worse."

"I understand that," Qin Ruohan nodded. Hesitating for a moment, she said, "Thank you for this."

Chen Liuhe waved her off. "No need for thanks. Let's be practical."

Qin Ruohan didn't say much more. She went back to her desk, opened a drawer, and pulled out three stacks of red "Lao Ren" cash. Looking a bit embarrassed, she said, "This is all the cash I have in my office. Take it for now, and I'll get more for you later."

Chen Liuhe wasn't polite. He weighed the thirty thousand in his hand, glanced at it without really looking, and tossed it to Huang Baiwan. "Old Huang, keep this money. Use it however you want—whether to flaunt it or send it back for your little sister's education. It's up to you."

Huang Baiwan's eyes lit up. He had never seen so much money before. He rubbed his hands together, but despite his love for money, he wasn't obsessed. Just as he was about to say something, Chen Liuhe interrupted, "Don't waste time. This is what you deserve. Just take it."

Huang Baiwan reluctantly accepted the twenty thousand he was about to return, grinning with his big yellow teeth. "Alright, I'll keep it. This money could help build a brick house in the mountains."

Chen Liuhe nodded with a smile. He didn't press Qin Ruohan for more. He trusted that she wouldn't shortchange him. As for how much reward he'd get, he wasn't too concerned. Money wasn't something he worried about much.

"Chen Liuhe, I... I have an unreasonable request," Qin Ruohan hesitated for a while before looking at him with pleading eyes.

Chen Liuhe lifted his eyelids and glanced sideways. "Spit it out."

Biting her lip, Qin Ruohan said, "Your current job probably isn't satisfying, right? Chen Liuhe, living off scrap isn't a good plan. How about you and your brother come work for me? As for the salary, don't worry, it'll be generous. And I'll cover all your sister's future medical expenses."

Chen Liuhe studied Qin Ruohan, then coldly said, "I see through your little scheme. You're not trying to help us but rather using us as your shield, aren't you?"

Qin Ruohan didn't refute him. She was actually thinking along those lines. Having angered the Black Dragon Society, who knew what choices they might make? She wasn't out of danger and felt more insecure.

Chen Liuhe would be her best protector, or at least a reliable support. If Chen Liuhe stayed in the club, she'd feel more at ease.

"Chen Liuhe, I know you're not a bad person. I really hope you can help me. I'm at my wit's end. I feel like meat on a chopping board, at the mercy of the Black Dragon Society. My family is ruined, and I really don't want to lose even this last bit of living space," Qin Ruohan pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes.

Chen Liuhe replied淡淡, "It's rare to find someone who recognizes talent like you do. But you should know, in today's world, money is easy to get, but talent is hard to find. Our fee is quite high."

Upon hearing this, Qin Ruohan was overjoyed and tears of relief filled her eyes. She nodded vigorously and said, "As long as you come, the salary and benefits will definitely satisfy you."

Chen Liuhe looked at Huang Baiwan and asked with a smile, "Old Huang, what do you think?"

"I follow Sixth Brother's lead," Huang Baiwan grinned, showing his trademark big yellow teeth.

Chen Liuhe then said to Qin Ruohan, "Boss Qin, you know people like me who are talented, resourceful, and seemingly handsome are rare. Ordinary positions would be beneath me. I won't consider any position below manager."

Hearing such audacious demands, Qin Ruohan felt a wave of nausea. Even Huang Baiwan thought Chen Liuhe was being a bit shameless. How could one person be so brazen?

But with no other options, Qin Ruohan had to suppress her disdain and said, "Except for the boss position, you can choose any other position."

"Then give me a high-paying job with minimal work," Chen Liuhe said with reluctance. "Oh, and it would be best if there were more female colleagues around. Don't look at me like that; I have no ill intentions. But as a leader, I need to engage with the staff. Having female colleagues won't lead to exclusion due to my talent and looks. It will be more efficient."

Huang Baiwan, grinning, added, "Sixth Brother is right. Getting close to the ladies is a necessary duty for a leader."

Qin Ruohan was almost overwhelmed by Chen Liuhe's shamelessness. She had seen shamelessness before but never to this extent. It was like dealing with a genuine rogue. She was beginning to question if bringing Chen Liuhe on board was a mistake, almost feeling like inviting a wolf into the house.

However, given the current situation, she had no choice but to swallow her pride and agree to all Chen Liuhe's demands unconditionally.

By the time Chen Liuhe and Huang Baiwan left the entertainment club, it was already past eleven at night. With thirty thousand in their pockets, they rode their shabby tricycle to the night market street, each ordering a bowl of knife-cut noodles and a bottle of beer.

After eating and drinking, Huang Baiwan, without any sense of decorum, picked his teeth, propping one foot up on the stool, and acted smug. After so many years, he had never felt as confident as he did tonight.

Money truly is a wonderful thing. It can turn commoners into aristocrats and make a hen into a phoenix.

"Sixth Brother, I really got a chance to show off tonight, didn't I? Even the big shots from the Black Dragon Society got a taste of my power," Huang Baiwan said with a grin. He had never been a notable figure but now felt he could brag about this big score for years.

"If that's all you've got, maybe you should stop hanging around with me," Chen Liuhe joked.

Huang Baiwan laughed heartily, and Chen Liuhe shook his head. "Don't get too excited. Qin Ruohan's situation isn't that simple. Zhou Yunkang is a fool who only creates trouble. The real drama is yet to come."

Huang Baiwan showed no surprise or panic. He had seen many people in his years, from shady characters to jailbirds. He had developed a keen sense for such matters and knew more than he let on.

"I follow Sixth Brother's lead. Whatever you do, I'll do," Huang Baiwan said cheerfully.

Finishing every drop of soup, Chen Liuhe stood up and said, "Let's go. Tomorrow we start our new jobs. If we're taking money, we need to deal with the problems too."

After paying, the two men strutted off into the night, their tricycle wobbling away.

Early the next morning, after dropping off Shen Qingwu at school, the two old-timers aimlessly wandered the streets all day. Most of their time was spent sitting on the roadside, discussing various types of women.

Chen Liuhe was all about seizing opportunities, while Huang Baiwan, an experienced "ball fan," had a discerning eye for women's curves. Anything below a C cup didn't interest him. Only D cups made his eyes light up.

By 3 p.m., they lazily trundled their tricycle back to the "Golden Jade Pavilion" entertainment club.

Qin Ruohan took their employment seriously, calling all the staff for a meeting. Chen Liuhe was directly appointed as the deputy general manager, and

Huang Baiwan found himself as the security team leader.

As for the former security chief, after Chen Liuhe whispered a few flattering words, Qin Ruohan promptly had him pack up and leave.
