The Feast at Hongmen

The "Golden Jade Pavilion" entertainment club was neither too big nor too small—it was a substantial industry worth tens of millions. Being in the service and entertainment industry, it had a considerable number of employees, at least seventy or eighty, with women making up two-thirds of the staff.

This situation made Chen Liuhe and Huang Baiwan smile broadly, but their grins were far from flattering. They looked rather sleazy, as if their minds were working on some devious schemes.

After the meeting, Chen Liuhe headed to his new office as the deputy general manager. He sprawled in the boss's chair with his legs propped up on the luxurious desk, looking decidedly unprofessional. He certainly didn't resemble a general manager—more like a royal who had outgrown his princely role.

"Starting today, I'm officially an elite," Chen Liuhe whistled proudly. In this bustling metropolis, he finally had a proper position.

Soon, there was a knock on the door. Chen Liuhe quickly changed his demeanor, clearing his throat and saying, "Come in."

To his dismay, it was Qin Ruohan. Chen Liuhe had hoped that a charming young woman would come to flatter him and show her loyalty, but instead, it was her.

Qin Ruohan entered the office, taking in the sight of Chen Liuhe, who looked out of place with the office's formal style. She frowned slightly and asked, "Are you satisfied with the office?"

Chen Liuhe leaned back lazily in the boss's chair and replied, "It's so-so, barely acceptable."

Qin Ruohan's frustration was palpable. She thought to herself that it was a waste to let someone like him use the office she had spent tens of thousands to design. Yet, Chen Liuhe had the gall to act as though it was a burden.

Seeing Qin Ruohan's anger simmering just beneath the surface, Chen Liuhe smirked. He took in her appearance: she was stunning, no doubt. The Chanel white dress accentuated her figure, and her long, slender legs in sheer black stockings added a touch of mysterious allure.

Her crystal high-heeled sandals revealed her dainty feet, and her toes were painted in colorful nail art. The sight was quite captivating.

Her face needed no extra praise—Chen Liuhe would rate her a ninety at least. She wasn't just beautiful; she had a mature charm that made her irresistible.

Chen Liuhe mused that having her beneath him for a bit of fun wouldn't be a bad idea.

But he quickly dismissed the thought. For Chen Liuhe, who had a devious mind but lacked action, he hadn't reached the peak of such primal desires.

"Tell me, what should I do as the deputy general manager?" Chen Liuhe asked with a smile.

Qin Ruohan sat on the sofa gracefully, keeping her short skirt in check, which left Chen Liuhe a bit disappointed. His gaze had been fixed on her.

"You don't need to do anything. All the tasks are handled by the department managers. You just need to show up and leave. Even if you sleep all day, no one will care," Qin Ruohan said. "Even if you sleep in all day, no one will say a word."

Chen Liuhe smirked. "So, in other words, I'm just a figurehead, a deputy general manager who's all show and no substance."

Qin Ruohan snapped, "Isn't this exactly what you wanted? You said you wanted a high salary with no work and a position above manager."

She paused and added, "Actually, you're not doing nothing. You have a serious responsibility—the entire club and my safety are in your hands."

Chen Liuhe sneered, "You think you're clever using a figurehead position to make me work for you?"

Qin Ruohan bit her lip and said, "I know it's not fair. I will remember your help."

Chen Liuhe's interest was piqued, and he grinned wickedly. "Since you remember my help, how do you plan to repay me? With favors or your body?"

Qin Ruohan's face flushed with anger, suppressing her disdain. "Is there no third option?"

"There is!" Chen Liuhe replied, "A one-night stand."

"You! Shameless!" Qin Ruohan was infuriated.

Her indignant reaction was amusing to Chen Liuhe. He waved his hand and laughed, "Forget it. I won't tease you. Don't worry. I'm very professional. I won't do anything unseemly for money. It's not my style to be a hypocrite."

Qin Ruohan's face turned slightly red, and she glared at Chen Liuhe. "Chen Liuhe, can you speak more civilly? Every word from you is so vulgar."

"Vulgar is still better than despicable," Chen Liuhe shrugged, showing no concern. His legs were sprawled over the desk, his thumb poking out from a hole in his sock and wiggling, making Qin Ruohan look disgusted.

Qin Ruohan's reaction didn't bother Chen Liuhe. He was indifferent to matters of civility, composure, and decorum. His distinguished status, once honored by the British royal family, would hardly be questioned. However, Qin Ruohan might never appreciate that side of him.

Suddenly, Qin Ruohan's phone rang. She looked at it and her face paled slightly. "It's Zhou Yunkang. What should I do? Answer or not?"

Chen Liuhe chuckled, teasing, "Are you so afraid of him? Didn't you say you hated him to the bone and wanted him dead?"

Qin Ruohan glared at him. "Are you joking at a time like this?"

Chen Liuhe shook his head. "Answer it. You'll be dealing with the Black Dragon Society often in the future."

Qin Ruohan sighed, answered the call, and after a brief conversation, looked at Chen Liuhe with a puzzled expression. She stood up, swaying her waist, and said quietly, "He wants to speak with you."

Chen Liuhe took the phone with a nonchalant smile, saying, "Big Brother Zhou, it's rare for you to remember someone as insignificant as me. What's up?"

The conversation was brief; Zhou Yunkang said a few words, and the call ended.

Chen Liuhe returned the phone to Qin Ruohan, a playful smile on his face. He was calculating something in his mind.

Qin Ruohan, anxious, asked, "What did he want? Why did Zhou Yunkang contact you directly? Normally, he would talk to me, the owner of the club."

Chen Liuhe lightly tapped the desk, stroking his stubble, and said with a grin, "Nothing much. Zhang Yongfu invited me to dinner."

"What?" Qin Ruohan was startled, almost dropping her phone. Her eyes widened in shock, "Zhang Yongfu invited you to dinner? He didn't agree to our demands, did he? Zhou Yunkang must have failed to resolve the issue; otherwise, Zhang Yongfu wouldn't personally get involved."

"Oh no, the Black Dragon Society must be ruthless. They won't rest until they destroy us. It seems they won't give up until they get what they want from the club." Qin Ruohan's face turned pale.

She then looked at Chen Liuhe, "You can't go. It must be a trap. They mean you harm. It's my fault for dragging you into this. You should escape before it's too late."

Chen Liuhe was amused by Qin Ruohan's reaction. He chuckled, "At least you have some conscience. Since you haven't lost it completely, I won't stand by and watch you get hurt."

Qin Ruohan was stunned, then looked at Chen Liuhe with a complex expression, hitting the desk and scolding, "Chen Liuhe, I'm not joking! The Black Dragon Society is no petty thug. They are real villains who kill!"

Chen Liuhe watched her, amused by the fiery look on her face. The way she fumed, with her chest rising and falling, was quite attractive.

From Chen Liuhe's angle, through the slightly open neckline of her blouse, he could glimpse a deep, snowy cleavage and the subtle tremble of her shapely breasts.

"Little girl, wearing a purple bra, you're quite feisty," Chen Liuhe said with a playful smile.

Qin Ruohan straightened up, covering her neckline and glaring at him. Before she could speak, Chen Liuhe casually remarked, "Do you believe everything is under my control?"

Qin Ruohan looked bewildered and asked, "What? You mean you anticipated this situation? You knew Zhang Yongfu would want to see you?"

Chen Liuhe shrugged, leaning back in his leather chair, and said lazily, "Why do you think Zhang Yongfu wants to see me with ulterior motives? Couldn't he just be fulfilling our proposal and wanting to meet me?"

Qin Ruohan said, "It's simple. If Zhou Yunkang had succeeded, Zhang Yongfu would have met with me, the club's owner. The fact that they're meeting with you instead means there's a problem."

"Zhang Yongfu's invitation could mean two things: either he wants to eliminate you, the troublemaker, or he's unsure about you and wants to test you. Either way, your situation will be dangerous."
