Chapter 202: Bad at Humanities? That’s an Easy Fix!  

Time flew by, and before they knew it, the day of the quiz had arrived. 

Early in the morning, Chabashira-sensei walked into the classroom with a stack of test papers. 

"We're about to begin the quiz. Before we start, there's something I need to announce. You requested to challenge Class C for the final exam, and since no other class picked them, your request has been approved." 

"And the class that will be creating the test for Class D—has been confirmed to be Class C. Again, this was because there were no overlaps in selection." 

As expected, Class A and Class B ended up facing off, while Class C and Class D were paired together. 

"Looks like everything lined up perfectly." 

"Yeah, it sure does." 

Class C and Class D were both known for having weaker academics, so Class D students were relieved to be matched against them. 

Everyone felt like their chances of winning had just gone up. 

Seeing the relaxed atmosphere in the classroom, Chabashira Sae smirked before starting to hand out the test papers. 

"Alright, let's begin the quiz. While this quiz won't affect your grades, if you get caught cheating, you can imagine what the consequences will be." 

The test papers were passed from the front row to the back. 

"Begin." 

At Chabashira-sensei's signal, Kanda Shuichi immediately flipped over his test paper and began reading through the questions.

It was really simple, even easier than the midterm exam. I just hope everyone sticks to the plan and doesn't try to score too high just because the questions are easy. 

The quiz went exactly as expected and ended without any issues. The results were posted the next day, and they were perfect. 

Just like Horikita had planned, the top ten and bottom ten students were paired up perfectly, and the class cooperated well. 

Horikita Suzune and Sudou Ken, Hirata Yosuke and Yamauchi Haruki, Kanda Shuichi and Inogashira Kokoro... 

"Yes!" 

Sudou cheered loudly the moment he saw his name. At least with Horikita as his partner, he didn't have to worry about getting expelled. 

His friends, Ike and Yamauchi, also got lucky, ending up with top students like Hirata and Yukimura as their partners. 

Come to think of it, Ike and Yamauchi had openly said before that they didn't like Hirata. But now that they were paired with him, their happy expressions were honestly disgusting to watch. 

Kanda Shuichi barely glanced at the first few pairings—he didn't care. He was looking for his good friend Miyake's name. 

Then, near the middle of the list, he found it. 

Miyake Akito and Ayanokouji Kiyotaka. 

What the hell? What is this?

Seeing this pairing, Kanda Shuichi's expression turned strange. He had been a little worried about Miyake at first, but now he wasn't worried at all. 

He kept scanning the list. The next pair was Hasebe Haruka and Sakura Airi. 

He knew Hasebe Haruka because she was a close friend of Sakura's and had even confessed to her before. 

They had interacted a bit, but he had no idea how good her grades were. Sakura's grades, on the other hand, weren't great. Would these two be okay? 

"How are Hasebe's grades?" 

Kanda Shuichi turned to Horikita. 

"Hasebe? Hasebe Haruka?" Horikita seemed a bit confused about why he was asking but still answered honestly. "If I remember correctly, she struggles with some subjects, especially humanities." 

"Are you worried about them?" 

"A little." 

Kanda Shuichi nodded. They weren't just random classmates, and both of them were good-looking girls. It would be a shame if they got expelled. 

Back on Sakura's birthday, he hadn't even given her a gift—just sent a simple birthday message. Maybe this was his chance to make it up to her. 

"If you're worried, why don't you tutor them? You and Sakura seem pretty close anyway." 

Horikita didn't want anyone in the class to fall behind in this test, but she was already busy helping Sudou and writing test questions. She didn't have time to help anyone else. 

Kanda Shuichi nodded. He decided he would invite Sakura to study after school. 

Oh, right, and Akito too! 

Damn, how did this happen? You were in the top twenty before—how did you drop to the bottom twenty so fast? 

"Looking at these results, it seems like some of you have truly understood the purpose of this quiz. And not only that, but you also managed to convince the whole class." 

Even though everyone already knew how the pairings worked, Chabashira-sensei still went through the rules as part of her job. 

"The highest-scoring and lowest-scoring students were paired together in order. If multiple students had the same score, they were randomly assigned. I probably don't need to explain this anymore, but I'll tell you anyway." 

"The rest is up to you. Just remember, you must submit your test papers before the deadline. Otherwise, the school's default test will be used instead. I don't think any of you would want that." 

After saying that, Chabashira-sensei left the classroom, just like before, leaving the rest of the time to the students. 

The moment she stepped out, Kanda Shuichi reached out and placed a heavy hand on Miyake's shoulder.

"Akito, you know what I'm about to say, right?" 

Kanda Shuichi's eerie tone sent a chill down Miyake Akito's spine. 

"Sorry, Shuichi! I promise I'll study hard from now on!" 

Miyake turned around, pressed his palms together, and begged for mercy. 

After agreeing to a bunch of unreasonable demands from Kanda Shuichi, he was finally let off the hook—for now. 

But during the study session, Miyake would learn the true meaning of suffering. 

While Kanda Shuichi was dealing with Miyake, Hirata and Horikita were also busy. They gathered the students who were struggling academically and split them into two study groups. 

Of course, not everyone wanted to join. 

After settling things with Miyake, Kanda Shuichi planned to check in with Sakura and see if she needed help. 

Before he could even move, Hasebe Haruka showed up with Sakura, standing right in front of him. 

Hasebe looked completely at ease, while Sakura stood behind her, looking shy. 

"Kanda, Airi and I aren't very confident about this test. Could you help us study?" 

Kanda Shuichi had been thinking about how to invite them to the study session, so he immediately agreed. 

"Of course." 

"Thanks! See, Airi? I told you Kanda wouldn't say no." 

Hasebe turned back and gave Sakura a thumbs-up. 

"Th-Thank you, Kanda." 

Sakura thanked him as well, and from the looks of it, she wasn't upset about his half-hearted birthday message from before. 

But hold on, Hasebe, what the hell are you saying? "Kanda wouldn't say no to Sakura"—that could be taken the wrong way! Take it back and say it again properly! 

After school, the four of them met at the Palette Café on campus. 

"Take out your test papers. Let me have a look." 

As soon as they sat down, Kanda Shuichi got right to business, asking them to take out their midterm and quiz papers. 

Since he had mentioned it earlier in the classroom, the three of them quickly handed over their tests. 

"Wow, Kanda, you're so strict. You sound just like a teacher," Hasebe joked while passing him her papers. 

"Right? Shuichi shows no mercy when he's teaching." 

"Akito, shut up. You went from ranking 15th at the start of the semester to 21st. Looks like you've been enjoying yourself a little too much lately." 

Miyake Akito immediately shut his mouth and gave Hasebe a helpless look, as if to say, "See?" 

After reviewing their papers, Kanda Shuichi's expression turned strange. 

Forget about Sakura's situation for a moment—Miyake and Hasebe's tests were eerily similar. If not for the names, he would've thought they belonged to the same person. 

Both of them were terrible at humanities subjects, but when it came to math and science, they could score in the 70s or even 80s.

"What's wrong?" 

Seeing Kanda Shuichi's strange expression, Miyake also felt something was off. 

"No, I was just thinking... it's really great that you and Hasebe didn't end up in the same group." 

Then, he handed over their test scores for Miyake to check. 

After looking for a while, Miyake put down the test paper and glanced at Hasebe Haruka. 

Hasebe also looked at Miyake Akito, and both of them had a look of relief in their eyes. 

Next was Sakura Airi. Her scores were pretty average—nothing outstanding, but nothing too bad either. Most of them were around 60, with no particular strengths or weaknesses. 

But considering that this test was relatively easy, their actual level might be a bit lower. Plus, since the questions for this final exam were written by Class C students, her scores might drop even more. 

Overall, she was barely on the passing line. 

After reviewing the tests, it was easy to see their weak points. Sakura would be a bit tricky, but Akito and Hasebe were way easier to handle. 

After all, their weak spot was humanities subjects, which relied heavily on memorization. And when it came to memorization, Kanda Shuichi was an expert. 

There were no rules against giving system items to others, right? 

Kanda Shuichi still had plenty of memory candies in his "fourth-dimensional pocket." As long as he summarized all the key points from first-year high school subjects and slipped a memory candy into their coffee, wouldn't that solve Akito and Hasebe's problems? 

Not only would it solve their problems, but it would also turn them into top students in the class instantly! 

As for Sakura, the same method could be used for humanities subjects. It would just cost one more candy. 

But for science subjects, that would take more time. Those couldn't be mastered instantly—they relied on understanding.
