For what is an illusion? A new type of information that was brought about by perception. It is always considered a lie, a distraction from the mind.
But it is so much more than that. An illusion is not a lie any more than a painting or drawing is. It just so happens to mimic the real deal so well that it could be mistaken for it, usually up to the smallest point possible.
Most illusions are visually based, appearing more like holograms to the naked eye. However, that does not mean illusions can be made for the other senses.
One could imitate the sound of a wolf or the taste of meat, the touch of fur, and the smell of sulfur. All of these can be remade through other means, they could be reforged and replaced.
And if an illusion can be considered a lie, a distraction, then one could use all of these other illusions to help distract, misdirect and fool others.
