New Roommate [1]

"There's really fish that big?!" Medusa asked me as we were walking around the Shapeless Isles.

It's been a while since I patched up the place and I spent it talking to Medusa. I was basically just talking to Medusa about the stuff I've seen in my travels. Like the large amount of creatures I've seen.

"Yup," I said while motioning with my hands in the air. "They were so large that you can probably build a village on top of them. They were colossus!"

I wasn't even exaggerating. The creatures in the age of gods were borderline ridiculous. I am absolutely positive that most of them would make the biologists of modern time question everything they know about evolution.

"I never knew fish like that existed," Medusa mumbled before she suddenly jumped slightly and looked worried. "Ah! I'm sorry! I'm bothering you with questions, aren't I? It's just that we don't have visitors here and-"

"It's okay, really," I just waved off her apology. I knew that the only people that came here were most likely warriors that wanted to kill her. It's why I didn't question why she attacked me. "What's the point of having all these stories if I don't share them with someone? I actually enjoy talking to you."

Medusa looked down in embarrassment while fiddling with the chain of her weapon. "R-Right. Thank you, and... I'm sorry for the way my sisters treated you. It's just that they've been in a bad mood lately."

Honestly, I didn't blame them.

For one thing, my Elemental mentality rendered the opinion of others absolutely irrelevant to me. It's not that I didn't care, it's that I literally CAN'T care about what they think of me. My only problem is if they take action about it like Ishtar did.

For another thing, I knew they must have felt pretty restrained here. While I knew that all the Gorgon sisters said they were happy as long as they're together, there's no way they didn't feel like prisoners every now and then because of being stuck here without anything but people trying to kill Medusa coming over.

"Honestly, it's alright," I assured Medusa while lightly petting her head. "Here's the thing about us Elementals. We don't really care about what gods think of us. So I really don't mind."

Medusa seemed awkward at taking the headpat. She really wasn't social or used to talking to anyone but her sisters.

It was then, however, that I noticed the magical energy of a human enter the island. "Someone just came into the island," I said.

Just like that, Medusa awkward expression was replaced with a cold and emotionless one before she moved away from me and jumped away. She began jumping from building to building towards where I felt the energy was.

It was obvious where she was going and what she was planning to do. She really wasn't to blame. All she wanted was to protect her sisters and live peaceful with them on this island.

But, she couldn't. Because some alien space ship that can take on any form is envious of her. Medusa was a victim and all she can do to defend herself is drench her hands in blood.

Did I just stand by and do nothing? "Well, time to be on the top of a goddess' hit list... again..."

Obviously not.
