I was standing in the middle of Nature's Law after me and Zelretch activated the Mystic Codes, which we named 'World's Trees' to honor Yggdrasil.
It was finally time for me to fix this relationship.
"Alright, Gaia, I know you can hear me!" I called out. "It's about time this feud is over!" There was a few seconds of silence before a familiar feeling came over my head.
"Alaya is not like us. Contacting it will be hard, even harder to reason with."
"You said the same about beating Crimson Moon and fixing you!" I yelled back.
"... I shall establish a connection between you and Alaya. However, once that happens, you will only talk on their terms. One mistake can make you their enemy."
"Story of my life," I groaned with a shake of my head. Almost every single person I met was a 'first impression makes everything'.
Gaia's presence was gone a second later. For the first few minutes, there was nothing, then something I haven't felt before happened.
At first, it felt like... buzzing? I don't know how to describe it. It wasn't the ringing that I experienced the first time I heard Gaia's voice.
The buzzing kept getting louder and louder before, soon enough... the whole world went black.
I found myself in an entirely different place. I was obviously just here mentally because Nature's Law wasn't around anymore, and the fact my body looked transparent while I knew for a fact I didn't have a soul.
This new place looked like nothing I've ever seen before.
The ground looked like it was made of some liquid. Not water, or maybe it was but too murky to recognise. The sky was filled with yellow glowing stars, and there were broken buildings floating everywhere.
Those buildings looked like... Everything. I recognised those buildings. Uruk, Greek, Celtic, Asian, Egypt, and much more.
"This is human history...," I mumbled as I realised that the buildings weren't just from every place, but every time.
There are buildings from the past, present, and even future. There's buildings from the medieval eras, which is a few centuries away. I definitely recognise some of the floating buildings as twenty first century architecture.
There was even a few buildings I've never seen before, made from stone and looking like they were closer to caves, and buildings from metal I've never seen before and looking rather futuristic.
I was in Alaya's territory, and this place contained signs of all human history.
"Uh... Hello?" I called out..
"State your business."
It was like a million voices speaking at the same time. Male, female, young, and old, all at once. I turned around and saw a figure completely covered in a red shadow with a white centre standing across from me.
"Wait... I've seen you before," I said, recognising the figure from that one time I talked to Tiamat.
"State your business," the Shadow repeated, uncaring of my recognition.
"I'm here on behalf of Gaia," I said. It wants to get straight to business? Then let's do that. "I want to reestablish the friendship between humanity and the Planet."
"Humanity will not compromise its progress to protect the planet," the Shadow replied.
"Okay, dully noted," I mumbled before shaking my head. "Look, I'm not trying to halt humanity's progress or anything. There just has to be a way to reach some common ground."
"Humanity will not compromise its progress to protect the planet," it repeated the same reply.
"I'm not telling you to compromise your progression," I groaned out. "I'm just telling you to find some common ground!"
"Humanity will not compromise its progress to protect the planet," I wanted to bash my head on a wall from getting the same reply again.
"Do you truly want to keep fighting the planet for survival?" I asked in annoyance. "You probably know about the Pruned Time-lines, so you should know that a war between humans and the planet always ends badly!"
"As it stands, Humanity is not at war with the planet, nor does it need its approval," the Shadow replied.
Gaia wasn't kidding. For a 'collective unconscious', Alaya sure is narrow minded.
"Yes, but as it stands, humans are also bound to lose their planet," I said back.
"Humanity will not compromise its progress to protect the planet," I groaned loudly at receiving the same reply again. "This meeting is over."
My eyes widen as the world around me began vanishing and my body began disappearing. "Hey, Wait! You can't be serious!" I cried out but the disappearing kept happening. I panicked and tried to think of anything that would keep the talk going.
"What about the Beasts of Humanity? Don't you want Gaia's help with that?"
"Handling the Beasts is the duty of the Grand Servants."
"What about the other Ultimate Ones?!"
"Humanity's Next stage of evolution should be able to handle them."
Think! Think! Think! Think! Think! "What about... What about the Eldritch Gods?!"
Suddenly, the disappearing stopped, and the area returned to how it used to be alongside my body. I guess I finally go their attention.
"What do you know of the Dark Gods of the Abyss?"
The Shadow asked.
"They believe Earth is their property and that humanity is their product. You're literally 'their toys' to them," I said quickly to avoid being kicked out again. "Neither you or Gaia can stop them alone. Working together is the only chance you have."
The Shadow fell quiet. The yellow stars in the sky began slowly blinking for a few minutes in a random order, as if they were discussing something.
After a few minutes, the Shadow spoke again. "Humanity... Is willing to discuss peace."
