Third POV:
Nighttime had made it into Camelot. The constructions have been halted for everyone to rest as knights patrolled the city.
Within the castle, King Arthur sat on their throne with her knights kneeling in front of her and Merlin standing besides her. "Rise, my knights. Let us begin this meeting."
Six knights stood up. Gawain, Kay, and Bedivere were present. Three more knights joined them, which were Tristan, Lancelot, and Agravain.
"Earlier today, a visitor came in, claiming they were sent by Vivian," Arthur started explaining the situation to her knights, at least the ones that were not present to see Zack.
To say they were surprised was an understatement, Lancelot especially. As a child raised by Vivian, he was surprised that she would send someone and was curious to meet them, but was also suspicious because, apparently, Zack was acting on the World's orders, not Vivian's request.
Agravain was especially suspicious of Zack. Someone who was neither loyal to the Kingdom nor King Arthur being allowed within the castle walls did not sit right with him. He made a mental note to tell the guards to be extra careful as long as Zack was around.
Tristan's reaction was closer to that of Kay and Gawain's. He was not pleased that someone openly disrespected his king and managed to walk away without any form of punishment.
When her explanation was done, Arthur turned to Lancelot. "Lancelot, did Vivian ever speak of this 'Zack' before?"
Lancelot shook his head, looking regretful. "I apologise, your majesty, but Mother had her secrets like everyone else."
Arthur nodded, accepting that reason before turning to Merlin next. "Merlin, what have you found?"
"Not much, sadly," Merlin said, causing the others to look at him in confusion. "Fairies seem uncooperative. They're downright scared of speaking of Zakiel, or Zack as we know him. I didn't think fairies are even capable of being too scared to talk. Haha!" Merlin's humour was not shared by the others within the throne room. "Anyway, all I found out is that fairies refer to Zakiel as 'the strongest' and as 'the mirror of the planet', but that's about all they were willing to tell me. So, I decided to look into what Mages and their little association have and what I found was... interesting."
"What do you mean?" Arthur asked.
"Apparently, they know about Zakiel, only by a different name. They apparently refer to him as 'Elementor', as for details. I couldn't get any out of them," Merlin explained while confessing this was all he got.
"Are you telling us that you couldn't gain information from a few common Mages?" Agravain asked.
Merlin shook his head. "Only the highest personal in the Mage Association apparently have detailed information on 'Elementor', and they all apparently signed a Geass scroll with Brishisan to swear secrecy. Brishisan is a very old Mage, to the point where he studied under Sorcerer King Solomon personally. Even I would struggle to break a contract made by a person like that."
"It doesn't matter," Arthur shook her head. "In the end, you managed to confirm that he is indeed acting on orders of the World. This is, in the end, another test to see my worth in wielding Excalibur, and I shall face it head on, You are all to not disturb Zack without reason, understood?"
"Yes, your Majesty!" All her knights and Merlin replied. First POV: Zack
Sleeping was just not a thing for me. With or without the Puppet body.
So, when Kay left me in my 'quarters', I just dropped the puppet body on the bed and moved my consciousness to my real body to relax from the strain of having flesh and blood.
If anyone walks into the room I left the puppet body in, they'd think they found a corpse.
After deeming it long enough for sunrise to come up in Britain, I moved back to the puppet body and saw that the sun was shinning through the windows.
Hearing the door open, I got off the bed and looked to see Bedivere opening the door.
"Apologies for the intrusion, but you did not answer when I knocked," he said, giving a short bow.
"Sorry about that, I'm a heavy sleeper," I lied as naturally as I don't breath. "Is there something you need?"
His majesty is offering for you to come and watch as he works," Bedivere explained.
I thought of it for a moment. Technically, it IS my job to watch over how she does things to decide if I should take or keep Excalibur. I guess I should go.
"Alright, lead the way," I agreed.
Bedivere nodded and led me towards the throne room. I noticed more guards than last night walking around. Guess the morning shift is tighter than the night one or they're being cautious with me being here.
After entering what turned out to be a throne room -which was also white and marble for some reason with red, royal drapes here and there -, I saw Arthur talking with some people that held papers.
Arthur took a glance at us before turning her gaze back to the men holding papers. I just walked to the side and leaned back on one of the walls to watch her work.
What I saw afterwards was... something.
"Your majesty, the supplies for the southern wall are running slower than anticipated because of weather problems, and they won't get here until next week," one of the men said, looking at the paper he was holding.
"I see. Send a message to the workers in the southern wall and tell them to withhold construction for now. Have them help with the construction of the city instead," Arthur instructed.
"You're majesty, the food and supplies from the northern villages have arrived. How shall we manage them?" Another man said, looking at his own papers.
Arthur just looked at him by moving her eyes. "Good. Restock on food and make sure to distribute it equally. Make sure the storage is well protected."
"Your majesty, bandits have become active in the East and the reports are becoming rather grim."
"Send Tristan with captain Marcus and his squad to deal with the bandits. Give Sir Tristan any other reports of disturbance in that area to deal with while he's there."
Arthur kept handing out orders and instructions. It was honestly a bit painful to watch.
It's not that her orders and instructions were bad. In fact, they were great. The problem is the way she sounded while giving those orders and instructions.
She sounded so... Robotic? Prerecorded? I wouldn't exactly say she sounded 'dead', but I absolutely am not gonna say she sounded 'alive' either.
No wonder those guys that were in a meeting with her yesterday looked annoyed despite not looking displeased.
I just watched for a while as Arthur managed her kingdom and gave instructions. I honestly thought of just outright leaving a few times.
Thankfully, it wasn't long before they were all finished and the men left while gathering their papers to follow Arthur's instructions.
When they were all gone, Arthur turned at me with what I can only assume is a curious glint in her eyes. I stared at her for a few seconds, wondering what she wants.
"(Wait... is she actually expecting an evaluation?)" I realised.
