Kaizoku opened the door, and a bright green light immediately engulfed both Kaizoku's and Sylphy's eyes.
After a few minutes, the bright light subsided, revealing a vast, dark green ocean flowing eastward.
Numerous restless souls drifted across the green ocean.
These souls appeared like emotionless beings, almost transparent and dark green, matching the ocean's color.
"Huh... So this is what people often talk about... The Ocean of Death," Sylphy said with a questioning expression.
They saw a very large and long stone bridge in front of them. It looks very old and there are many cracks in the stones.
Looking at each other uncertainly, Kaizoku and Sylphy could only wonder: is this bridge strong enough to hold them?
Whatever their answer is, they were forced to continue walking on the old and long bridge into the unknown darkness.
They continued their journey with shaking, walking across a long stone bridge as they tried not to look down.
Midway, Sylphy heard someone walking. She quickly stopped moving and silently halted Kaizoku.
The sound was like crack, crack, crack, resembling shattering bones. Not knowing what was happening in the darkness ahead, Sylphy and Kaizoku remained still and focused.
They waited for several seconds. Once the sound disappeared, they continued across the bridge.
"Ssshh... Stay calm, don't panic," Sylphy said, attempting to calm herself and Kaizoku.
Slowly entering the darkness before them, despite their doubts, they were determined to press forward.
After walking through the darkness for several minutes, they finally saw light again. Emerging from the darkness, they saw a terrifying kingdom—pitch black, covered in spider webs, with numerous graves surrounding it.
"If I'm correct, this is the dwelling of the Grim Reaper, the soul collector."
"Legend has it that the Grim Reaper isn't typical—not wearing a long black robe, but dressed like us to blend with humans, making their work easier," Sylphy said, questioning the certainty of her words.
She continued, "But I'm not sure if that's true. It's just a myth and rumor often fabricated by villagers."
Hearing Sylphy's words, Kaizoku could only surrender to the situation. He offered his opinion:
"So, if that's true, we'll try to meet the Grim Reaper and ask to be released from the Underworld. Assuming they're not evil. But I'm sure they are evil—what good person wouldn't keep their kingdom clean?"
Since Sylphy had no better suggestion, she followed Kaizoku's plan.
"If we succeed, of course. If we fail, we'll die together, as promised." Sylphy gave a small smile to Kaizoku.
Seeing her smile, Kaizoku could only return a small smile. Continuing his thought, he spoke with hope: "Hopefully Gabriel and the others are brave enough—or I should say, foolish enough—to help us."
"But we should keep our expectations low, though I never lose hope."
They continued their journey toward the kingdom's massive gates.
As they approached the gates, they saw two guards. These guards looked unusual—they were skeletons.
To prevent any unexpected encounters, they quickly hid behind a large rock to discuss their next move.
