Chapter 97 - Kaizoku's Theory

Kaizoku used his power to stop time and then resume it, suddenly appearing before Gon, startling him.

While the time was stopped, Kaizoku using his brain how to releasing the green liquid from Gon's body. After a moment, Kaizoku having an idea.

Using his Creation spell, Kaizoku created a stone to test his idea and theory.

He immediately threw the created stone at Gon's left cheek.

Gon knew the stone would instantly disintegrate upon contact with his special fluid, so he let Kaizoku throw it without reacting.

The stone hit Gon's cheek and, sure enough, shattered into liquid after touching the green fluid.

Kaizoku noticed something about the fluid that could be his turning point for attack - when the stone touched the fluid, the affected area temporarily disappeared before being replenished.

Kaizoku just needed to move faster than the fluid could replace what was lost after contact with any object.

Kaizoku jumped backward, avoiding Gon's sudden attack.

Gon ran forward pursuing Kaizoku. Spinning his scythe, Gon directed its tip toward Kaizoku's head.

As Kaizoku attempted to use his power again, he suddenly felt pain in his eye, indicating he couldn't use it excessively.

This forced Kaizoku to dodge Gon's attack by ducking his head.

The next thing Kaizoku wanted to test was whether his special bullet could penetrate Gon's fluid defense.

Quickly drawing Destion with his left hand, Kaizoku pulled the trigger, firing a bullet toward Gon's jaw.

Kaizoku rolled to the side to observe the result.

Against Kaizoku's expectations, the bullet turned into liquid just like the stone he had thrown earlier.

Even the bullet that could nearly penetrate everything destroyed upon contact with Gon's green fluid.

"Impossible... This is the first time Destion's bullet has failed to pierce through completely."

Gon observed Kaizoku's shock at his bullet's failure to penetrate. "Heh, nothing has ever penetrated Gon's final defense."

Kaizoku thrust Berseker into the ground, then returned Destion to his pocket. "If that's the case, no one has ever escaped my time stop either."

Gon chuckled, responding to Kaizoku's words mockingly. "Stopping time will be useless if you can't penetrate Gon's defense!"

Kaizoku remained silent, ignoring Gon's words. He tried to think of ways to breach Gon's defense.

He examined every point on Gon, but found no solution as the fluid completely enveloped Gon's entire body and scythe. It seemed impossible for Kaizoku to attack while Gon still had this fluid - certainly, Kaizoku didn't want to risk losing Berseker from his hands.

While Kaizoku was still thinking, Gon suddenly leaped above him with the scythe's tip nearly grazing Kaizoku's forehead.

Quickly rolling forward, Kaizoku reminded himself not to lose focus during battle. "Tch! Won't even give me time to think."

Gon spun around, his scythe following the motion toward Kaizoku.

As the scythe was about to strike Kaizoku's chest, he quickly activated Deadeye to stop time.

Blood vessels again filled Kaizoku's left eye with red, activating Deadeye and temporarily freezing everything.

Kaizoku took this opportunity to retreat and avoid the scythe's attack.

When Kaizoku's Deadeye deactivated, everything resumed as normal.

The attack failed as Kaizoku had seemingly teleported backward.

Remembering his stone theory, Kaizoku had an idea how to penetrate Gon's defense.

"Hehehe... Right... Why didn't I use paper instead of stone..." Kaizoku said with a small laugh.
