Kaizoku ran forward at incredible speed. He used the Creation spell to create paper he would use later.
Just as Kaizoku was about to throw the paper, a skeletal human emerged from below and pushed him far away from Gon.
"Huh!?"
Kaizoku was thrown back by the skeletal human. "Ggrrhh... So that's how it is..."
Gon glanced sideways, watching Kaizoku fall from the skeletal human's push. "Geh, did you think we wouldn't know how you find your winning points?"
"We...?" Kaizoku wondered, confused by Gon referring to himself as 'we.' The next puzzling thing was how Gon knew the tactic Kaizoku used to predict enemy attacks.
Full of strength to fight, Kaizoku resisted the skeletal human push. But in the process Kaizoku accidentally falls, followed by a skeletal human which disappeared when its fell with Kaizoku.
Sitting up, Kaizoku continued questioning Gon. "How did you know that... only my closest companions know that tactic."
Kaizoku also heard what seemed like two people speaking earlier - Gon's own hoarse, high-pitched voice, and another with a rather human young tone.
"That doesn't matter." this time only Gon's voice was heard.
Gon jumped up, pointing his scythe's tip downward, aiming Kaizoku's forehead.
Swiftly, Kaizoku rolled sideways to avoid Gon's sharp scythe.
As Kaizoku tried the paper method again, suddenly two skeletal hands emerged from the ground, gripping both his legs tightly. "Huh!? Eeehhh!!"
Kaizoku looked down at the two hands firmly grasping his legs.
Gon spun his scythe toward the trapped Kaizoku.
Forced to act, Kaizoku activated his Deadeye again to stop time.
Kaizoku's heartbeat thundered loudly once more. The world turned red, everything temporarily frozen.
"Alright, Kai... Now's the perfect time to test your theory." Kaizoku pushed through both legs with full force, breaking them easily.
The paper in Kaizoku's hand remained motionless, forcing him to grip it harder to make it move.
When Kaizoku managed to position the paper near Gon's cheek, he also aimed his sword close to Gon's cheek, preparing to strike immediately after the paper disintegrated.
Kaizoku closed his left eye, automatically deactivating his Deadeye. Everything resumed its normal flow.
The paper successfully touched Gon's left cheek, instantly disintegrating upon contact with the green fluid.
As expected, the fluid temporarily disappeared where it made contact with objects.
Due to the paper's large size, the fluid-free gap was also considerable.
Kaizoku, already prepared, immediately moved Berseker toward the fluid-free gap.
The greatsword quickly struck Gon's left cheek, the sword's edge creating a slash wound.
Kaizoku's thrust was powerful enough to send Gon flying just from the cheek slash.
"Gahahaha! I've found a way to penetrate your defense! Now, victory is within my grasp!" Kaizoku proclaimed proudly, having proven his theory successful.
Gon stood up from his fall, the wound Kaizoku had inflicted already covered again by his green fluid.
"Heh, just like the Kai I know..." this voice differed from Gon's, more human and more casual.
Kaizoku looked at Gon with intense curiosity. "Don't speak as if we know each other. You know nothing about me."
