Chapter 15: Burning Town Behind the Oath

 The gold haired woman step closer to Codex with the flintlock facing straight to her head.

 "You can call me Amelia if you like. I don't mind."

 "You want to draw the Dyrad out? Are you crazy?" Codex ask with a sharp tone and her glare sharp as a knife.

 "Call me all you want. But I will make sure that holy crystal that Dyrad has mine. And.... you will not disturb me."

 As the two talk to each other, the assassin start to set the fire around the town. Black smoke were filling the surrounding area. The sleeping townspeople and even her friend is still sleeping and may be eaten by fire in the next hour.

 Amelia put the flintlock directly to Codex's head as it brushes through her hair.

 "What are you waiting for... Kill me."

 "Oh. you ask for it." She press the trigger and shot right through Codex's head.

 Blood spill around and her red book were covered in her blood. Amelia starts to leave and also lighting the whole place on fire.

 Somewhere else...

 "What the hell are you doing! That's a gamble!" Shouts a really hoarse voice.

 "What do you think I can do?! This is the only way and I planned this all along! Can't you cooperate please!" Codex said with anger.

 "Fine! You really is persistent after all."

 "How long will it take?" She ask to the ghosty black figure in front of her.

 "An hour or so."

 She sigh and sit on the floor of the empty place. She kinda wish that she could be resurrected back as fast as possible but the black figure who also was the book she use can only do that the fastest.

 "Better than nothing."

 "But this is the last time I will resurrect you back! You will die next time! I don't want to waste my power on a person like you!" The book said with anger and disappointment.

 Meanwhile, the town already burning heavily. People were sleeping and get burned along with their town. Many already reduced to ashes and there are still not yet. But with no one saving them, This is the end for the town.

 "Or...maybe not?" a woman voice echoes as she running through the forest and effortlessly assassinate the Light Bearer priest one by one in silence.

 she keep doing so and the sleep spell in the town get weaker and weaker until magicians can withstand the spell and awaken. She stop killing and then left.

 "It's all up to you, Ekiu. I put this responsibility to you." She smile and a purple glowing eyes could be seen behind her shadow as she going away from the town unnoticed.

 As the town burns, Ekiu finally wake up and he find himself laying on the floor of his shop that currently burning. He quickly cast water splash to take the fire out.

 "Equ! Where are you!?" He looking for Equ in the building and no where to be found.

 He get the guarantee that his sister not dead yet so he get out the building to take a look what was happening. His eyes widen as the fire flickering in his eyes, eating away the town slowly.

 The town people were all sleep and he couldn't think of a solution but one.

 "There is only one way to stop this. I summon the seed off graceful gift. owned and bewit, making those poverty away by it's breeze. The heavy waves of the darkest cloud... Rain!" He cast a spell that immediately calls all the cloud around the area and rain falls in count of less then a minutes.

 The fire slowly get less wild but still eating the town. By that, a few of the assassin realized that he was the one who cast the rain so they start to gank on him. He defend himself with his spells and tricks.

 At one time, he almost got slashed by one of the assassin but an axe flying and cut the assassin's arm.

 "MY ARM!" Ekiu realized that assassin was behind him as he kicked the assassin away.

 "Don't you dare! Touch my brother!" Equ runs into the scene and with barehand, she take those assassin down one by one.

 She hold one assassin and throw him to other assassin. Some of the assassin throw their knives but she could deflect those knives with her kinetic magic. A weak but useful spell.

 One of the assassin using a spell that could conseal itself and sneak behind her but he get an electric bolt hits his body and he got electrocuted by the rain and the bolt. Equ turn to Ekiu and nodded.

 "Thanks!"

 She runs to the last assassin there and grab his face. She smash the face hardly to the ground and that one fainted. She look at Ekiu and smile.

 "Glad you're good. Thanks for the rain, Brother."

 "Couldn't still alive without you." He said.

 "Most of the fire already out. but those assassin start to kill sleeping people to make sure of bloodbath in this place." Equ said and take her axe.

 "We need to find their leader." Ekiu said and jumps up on the roof but the rain gets heavy and their vision is limited by the rain.

 They choose to work together in order to find and kill the leader of this ruckus. In their way, they kill any assassin the spotted on sight.

 At the other side of the town, Black Blade was wondering around and killing the assassin he found without hesitation. He couldn't found Emerald anywhere and he just discovered Codex's dead body on the ground with a hole across her head.

 The assassins and mages attempt to kill him but all of them meets their bitter end by the edge of his black sword. The core itself is embodiment of chaos. When there is chaos around, the core power is increasing tremendously.

 He could even cast spell without even needed to chant like he always do. The rain that fallen here not just because of Ekiu's spell but also the aura that core attract the rain and make it heavier. The blade was feeding on his sorrow and he use the power to kill those mages effortlessly.

 Madame try to stop him but he already stab her with the blade after they were crossing blade for 5 minutes non stop. Madame was running out of energy to keep up with his power.

 "You may ruin my plan, Black Blade Master."

 "You... ruin my everything..." For the first time, his eyes turn completely black and her dashed towards Amelia.

 Amelia cast her magic and shot multiple bullets to him. Many bullets hits him but none could stop him. As watching this happening, Amelia smile wide to the power she feels from him.

 "fight me! Kill me!" She shouts and fight Black Blade directly with her flintlock.

 The flintlock have sharp and sturdy blade at the top of it and it was infused with magic that make it has enough power to block Black Blade's attack.

 She swings her two flintlock blade to him. He dodges down and swing his sword to Amelia's knee. She manage to jump away and shots to bullets while flying away from him. He parries the bullet with his sword and charges again.

 The two keep fighting endlessly. None of them seems to flinch and the two have the same speed. Black Blade seems to be increasingly powerful as the fight continues. The core keep consuming Black Blade's anger and the chaos that swirl around the town.
