Chapter 16: Melodious ending

 The blades still clanking at the street. Some assassin just standing around watching the fight between Black Blade and Amelia. None of them dare to interupt the fight let alone helps. There is no space for anyone to get close. Getting closer will get them die by the tension around the two alone.

 The two still clashes but it seems the end is drawing closer and the favor seems to be at Black Blade's side since his energy seems to be unlimited while Amelia already exhaust her mana and energy while giving all she got.

 Every swings from Black Blade become heavier and heavier. She then block a slash from him and she get thrown behind by the impact. She was still standing after that but seems no longer have the power to fight.

 "You... really is a strong opponent... Black Blade." She lay down her flintlocks and already accept that she is gonna die by the edge of Black Blade's sword.

 "I have no hesitation to kill when you take everything from me." He walk towards her.

 His anger already fade away at the moment. Seeing Amelia already on her knee make him feel satisfied even the sorrow from losing Emerald and Codex still tearing down behind his composed expression.

 A few of the assassin jumps toward Black Blade to save their leader. Black Blade turn and only heavily slash horizontally towards the assassin and a black with a slight aura of red magic wave slice all of the into half in count of seconds.

 "Your time has come to end. See you on the other side." Amelia's eyes widen as she hear the words from Black Blade.

 She smile and prepare to be cut down but...

 "Master!"A girl shout and the voice sound very familiar to Black Blade.

 She stop his blade near Amelia's neck. A few strands of her hair already fall on the ground. They all look at the source of the shout. There stands Emerald with her clothes slightly burned and she get some burning wound at her arm, face and legs.

 As Black Blade were distracted, Amelia take the chance and cast an explosive spell and blast him away. He get the blast directly and his stomach seems to be heavily damaged when blood flowing none stop from there.

 "Master NO!!!" The rain gets even heavier.

 Emerald try to get herself to cast a spell but all she could does was a small wind ball that hits Amelia's face like a playful slap. She get to her knee. She couldn't walk to the shock seeing Black Blade unconscious with blood flowing and being washed by the rain.

 Amelia walks up to her with her flintlock. Her hair was wet and her face full of hatred.

 "I almost die! but..." She smile to her with a psychopatic smile.

 "Why... you... kill him..?"

 "You saved me little girl. Maybe I can spare your life." She smirks and her gaze getting even scarier then before.

 She raised her flintlock to Emerald's head as she seems to weep behind the heavy rain.

 "Halt!" Someone shout and in a very high speed charged to her and blast her face with an impact type of spell.

 "Huh... Sis... Codex?" Emerald look up and see Codex.

 Codex nodded and look at Amelia. She is no longer have the hole on her head and she is ready to fight now.

 "If you think you can hurt her... Think twice!"

 She hurl some spells with many different type of elements. Amelia shots a few bullets to stop the spell and evaded some while swiftly getting closer to Codex. A spell almost hit her and she take off her cloak and use it to block the spell.

 As the spell broke and the cloak no longer intact, codex was already in front of Amelia and she grab her neck and charged to a building wall. The wall cracks and blood spit out from Amelia's mouth. She were hanged to the wall by her neck choked.

 "Any last word?"

 "YOu... wILL Re..GreT foR.. KilliNG mE!" She said and her head separated from her body when Codex blast her neck into pieces.

 Blood spilled everywhere but shortly washed by the rain. She stands there looking at Black Blade's body that lies there motionlessly. Tear rolling down her cheek with the rain water as she rushed to him. Her red book falls down from her cloak and it opened.

 Almost all the pages getting ripped off from the book and leaving some cover. It get wet by the rain. The assassin watching the scene and wanna take advantage on Codex who was seems to be distracted as she was attempting to heal Black Blade.

 But before they could, Ekiu and Equ arrives and stands behind Codex to protect her.

 "Get lost! Or I'll cut you all into pieces!" Equ shouted in anger.

 "Let just go. We must stay alive to reports everything to big boss." On of the assassin said and all of them running away.

 "We manage to drove them off but we also losing almost everything... Almost 70% of this town destroyed and many dies." Ekiu said and turn to Codex who was crying hardly on Black Blade's cold dead body.

 "(Sigh) This could not go wrong any further. We've done all we could."

 The someone was walking in the rain. He has a long hair and wearing a weird yet charismatic healer robe. His tone is very gentle and he acts like a gentleman with a smile never fade his face.

 "I can help it." He said and he kneel down by Black Blade's dead body.

 Nobody said anything as the man put a neckless on Black Blade's chest and casting spell in archaic language. Then, a bright green light envelopes Black Blade's body and his wound disappear as the light fade.

 "He is completely healed and I already summon upon his soul back to this body. He will wake up in a day or so." he said calmly.

 They all could see Black Blade's body start to show sign of life. His chest start to weave up and down and his limbs start to be less stress. He was sleeping in peace.

 "You are?" Codex looking at the man with a relief in her expression.

 "I am a Acolyte. a wondering healer hail from another land." He said with a smile and his light green hair start to wet by the rain.

 After that, The man asked for Ekiu and Equ to look for people that have the potential to be revived. After taking thanks from Codex and heal all Emeralds wound. He follow the two into the town.

 "Sis Codex... You okay?" She ask.

 "Yeah... Let's bring him to somewhere away from this rain." She said and the two together pick him under a roof.

 Codex were looking at Black Blade's face. never tear her gaze away even a second.

 "Sis, may I ask you something?"

 "Ask away." She replied but didn't look Emerald at all.

 "How come... you still alive? And your magic power is... almost scary."

 She sigh for a moment before replying.

 "I tore that book off. Almost all the pages. The book is where I store all my magic power and when I rip them... It will be free and I can use them freely."

 Emerald nodded and they sit there while waiting for news from Ekiu and Equ.
